VMAX SPEED GOVERNOR BUSTED
THE SPEED LIMITER ON THE NEW MAX CAN BE REMOVED by splicing 2 wires on the ECU and gives FULL POWER IN ALL GEARS an xtra 15hp and a top speed of 175 on the speedo after doining the MOD THIS certainly changes things for the new owners and there are some other goodies coming in the very near future new race ECU , 4to1 EXHAUST,etc WE at CARPENTER RACING will be modding a new MAX in the near future

it appears that their big "crack" is simply inserting a speedo healer or yellow box inline... really nothing new and hardly a hack of the system... beyond that there's so much fucking spam and ads shoved in your face on that site, it's impossible to find anything there may be more information but it hurts my brain too much to try to find anything there...
this is the best I could come up with... if anyone else has the patience to wade through the spam to find any more info please post it up...

This box could be replace with pretty much any brand speedo healer or a simple hard wired frequency divider. A ratio of about 20:17 would (~15%) suffice to reach the indicated 155mph.

well, since Ridgeracer posted the real sped fix for the zx-12r for free on this site back in 2001, and then aftermarket companies copied it and sold it, it makes me think twice about the motivation of someone not posting the info.
Most of these fixes are easy and only cost a few bucks. Real community members would simply post up the instructions and a list of bits from Radio Shack to put it together.
Till I see something like that, I figure this isn't anything more than spam to drive people to a spam filled site that's powered by spam.

WELL, I post info for the new VMAX owners and direct them to where I saw it ,they can read it for themselves and draw their own conclusions, I have no connection with the other forums ,and am not interested in argueing with sport bike owners that dont like the new MAX and only on here to bash it ANYWAY the YAMAHA ECU is available and removes the speed restrictions and raises the rev limit to 10300 raising top speed to 185 mph+ again it is posted on another forum so check with YAMAHA for the details

BRIANS HARLEY held a DYNO SHOOTOUT today an 09 vmax entered and made 182HP and 118 TQ with 88miles on the speedo, and was top bike of the day

But I have to admit lurking in these Vmax forums makes me feel like I am a some Newfy Wedding LOL
You cruiser guys are definately different 
I am also unsure where these 185+ or 180+ numbers are coming from as most in the forums are talking 170 or less kinda numbers with no restricters

I had to look up the wiring of this new bike.
We do not have plug-n-go solution for this bike, unfortunately.
However, our SH-V4 with SH-U01 (universal) harness kit will work fine.
The splice should be made on the White/Yellow (speed signal) wire between the ABS and ECU coupler.
Calibration will not interfere with ABS functions, but it will remove the speed limiter as well.
Also, based on the article you linked, this mod will improve the overall performance.

YEAH LOOKS LIKE the actual top speed on the DYNO is 168 and the speedo reads 180+

How fast will a stock VMax go? Never thought it needed a fix....... not much top end.
