Of course stock against stock. Once you start modifying you can make almost anything fast, especially those bikes. And a 14 certainly does NOT run sub 9s as a stock bike.

If I had the money I get all three of them: Busa, 14 and VMax

Stock against stock it will matter how the new V-MAX it's set up from the factory....just being realistic a stock factory showroom ZX-14 will not beat Harley Destroyer...which is just about as heavy as this new V-MAX

yea I know..the Harley Destroyer has all kinds of drag racing preparation....just saying a 600 lb - 1800 CC V-MAX "could be capable of 9 second 1/4 mile and be very competitive..all argumentative at the moment...but we are just entertaining thought and possibilities here...

But I believe more so....it will dethrone all other cruisers..not the ZX-14....

Will be Interesting to see what it can do..stock and modified...

boring bike it should not be..at least not for a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts...

Have fun!!

21,000. I bought it with like 3000 miles for pretty cheap a few years ago as my backup ride to the blackbird I then totalled, which at the time had over 70,000 miles on it. I almost sold it, but it turns out to be a great daily beater. I think I'm going to ride it into the ground. I put about1200-1400 miles a month on it. I think I had an ad here to sell it a while back. It's a pretty solid ride.

I think anyone focusing on hard performance numbers is missing the point of this bike.

It's a power cruiser. And 210 hp (or less) is plenty for that purpose. Compared to the other cruisers out there, it will be a monster. And it looks like a worthy successor.

Tell me about it, all this talk about "It won't corner like my 14"and "no aero for the top speeds my 14" gotta go, it's not a sportbike but it will do what it's designed to do; accelerate.

And who was comparing a turbo 14 to this, a stock cruiser? That's funny stuff(if not a mild inferiority complex).

Wait a second - since when is a VMax a cruiser - WRONG!!!!! never was and never will be....- compare it to the B-King - but it ain't no cruiser. Rocket jockeys - GEEZ! Next you will be calling a ZX14 with saddle bags a touring bike.....

What class of bike is Yamaha putting this new VMax in?

And also note Kawasaki will never put the "R" behind the ZX14 such as they do the ZX10 and ZX6.

The V-Max has always been called a "power cruiser", even since 1985. The 14 is really sort of a touring bike....more of a ZZR than a hard-edged sportbike. Say, don't they call it a ZZR overseas, anyway?

I guess some might call the 'Max a "Sport-Standard" now...like a Z1000?

With my 14 weighing 543lbs 2 gal fuel, no way the Max could go under 700lbs and keep all the pretty gages and eye candy.

Of course the v-max is a cruiser, cruiser seating, cruiser look...the only thing I dont particularly care for about the max is it's "cruiserness"...thats why I took off the gay handlebars and put on drag bars...so did a lot of people. I guess our ploy worked. Spaz3 thinks it's not! Look at a stock v-max ...it's a cruiser.

I like the fact that the only people who don't consider the vmax a cruiser are the people who can't out run it lol. Now do i think that the new one should be considered a cruiser? most likely not... but the old one is definitely a cruiser. It's just glorious that no one has been able to touch it yet. BTW... KSPZ3, you never did tell us what all you had done to your v-rod. You've got to have some shit done to it to be turning the times that you are on it.

Bawls - First - just so everyone knows I am a fan of the VMax - always have been since my days of racing a V65 Magna in the eighties. Now as for your assesment those who reject it - better sais the only folks that don't think it is a cruiser are those that actually have a cruiser ..... BTW - wether they go faster than me has nothing to do with my thoughts - as almost everyone goes faster than me - cruiser, rice rocket, drag bike, etc, etc.. I am typically the only Harley at the track so I am accustom to first out of the shoot in the brackets. My Vrod is not fast - 10.94 best run - 1250 kit - same as the current ones - lots of chrome - exhaust, shifter and tuned. It is a great bracket bike - but not a heads up bike by any stretch of the imagination - its a cruiser after all (and not a real Harley if you check with the faithful). What defines a cruiser - to me long, low and to many VTwin. The VMax is definately a Hot Rod - fast and furious - but awfully high seating - on the edge of a hooligan - a catagory that I thought VMax pioneered. Now the problem I see with the bike is that shaft, high seat and short wheelbase - with high horsepower it should be a fly swatter. I do not think that it will distinguish itself at the track - either as a heads up or as a bracket bike..... I would seriously consider it if it was set-up right - like chain drive, 24 to 26" seat height and 68" or so wheelbase...... that would be one wicked bike at the track. Anyway - I am looking forward to seeing what they did with it - it certainly has takin' them long enough - and if they want one wicked cruiser - all they need to do is slam it and stretch it and they might get into the territory.
