BST CARBON FIBER WHEELS!!!!

I have a set coming for a 14 right now. I'll post pics & give my riding impression when they're installed
If the weights are right the 14 loses more than 10 pounds on the rear wheel alone. Thats unspung, rotational mass. Gone!
I'm just alittle amped.....

The weights are running 4.6 lbs on the front wheel & 5.9 lbs on the rear wheel. The 14's rear wheel weighs over 16 lbs w/o carrier, sprocket or disc!

We are a new dealer for the best Carbon Fiber wheels made. Bikeland members are assured pricing that will not be beat!

Contact me through my site or call me at the shop.

Bill

Not to throw a damper on your purchase...but... I hear those things crack real easy. A bud of mine had them on his 600RR and wasn't too pleased after about 6 months of some hard riding on them thar wheels!

Well, they do come with a 2 year warranty. I've done a fair amount of research on them & the one wheel that I observed that had cracked was due to a hi-speed head on collision . If it had been an aluminum wheel it wouldv'e been dust. The cf wheel just cracked, didn't physically come apart. You are on L.I., Tell you buddy to stop by I'd like to see the wheels. I'm thinking they were Dymags. I've had issues with Dymags myself, not the CF's but the Magnesium wheels.
I've not seen or heard a specific problem with the BSTs'.

I've always heard carbon fiber wheels in general were not a good idea for street use.

You've got the "faux" carbon fiber rims....they almost look like the real thing....but they're not...

Don't be a "hater". Just cuz he got'em & you don't! lol.

I just ran the R1 ragged today. Put 150 miles of hammering, yea, the rim cracked in half once I broke 70 mph. lol...

It's funny, being in the MC industry I usually get the inside skinny on products that are questionable. I've never heard anything negative about CF wheels. The Dymag wheel whether it be CF, Magnesium or alum. I personally had issues with. But, it was their hub & the finish, not the wheel itself. As far as the BSTs' are concerned, I've heard all good, nothing negative. That's why I have them on my bike. I'am a Dymag dealer, I could've put them on a year ago. If I thought the BSTs' were questionable do you think I'd put my ass on a bike wearing them? I let you guys know when they fail. Otherwise, acceleration difference with these wheels is significant! Handling? Well, you ever ride an R6 with an R1 motor slipped in it & nobody told ya? That's how she handles. Sweet!

Installed the wheels today on the ZX14! Saved 9+lbs on the rear & 6+lbs. on the front. The 14 turns in similar to a GSXR 750! Well, a GSXR750 with a 14 motor in it! The difference is HUGE!!!
You think of turning and the bike is doing it! It will take alittle getting used to. Acceleration has also markedly improved! I would have to compare this upgrade on par with removing the secondaries. That is about the only way I can explain the depth of difference in handling! I'm extremely happy! Money well spent!

I'll upload the pics tommorrow, left them in the camera at the shop.

15+lbs of unsprung weight equats to feeling like a 75lb loss in sprung weight. Now I know what this bike feels like with a 160lb rider aboard. Incredible!

Did some dyno runs with the BST wheels on the ZX14. We hit 160 mph on the dyno .4 secs sooner with the BST wheels as opposed to the stock wheels. Rolled on at 3K to redline went from 7.9 seconds to 7.5 in a 5th gear pull.

I going to have to put a better steering damper on the 14 & the R1.
They definitely feel alittle light on the front wheels!!!

Also, the 14 showed HP gains up to 15 HP thru the rev range. Although the peak # didn't change. It's "wicked" responsive. Tru195 saw the dyno charts, he's already negotiating a set for the 07 GSXR1k.
Rolled on in 3rd against his Gixxer with the R1. We were head to head until the very upper part of the rev-range then he opened up a 2 to 3 length lead. 2nd gear was dead even. couldn't run the higher gears due to "rush hour" traffic. Not bad though for the R1 considering that it's down 16HP on the 3yr. newer GSXR1K. All gains were made by bolting on a set of rims.
I've talked to several of you on here about a group buy of 6 or more sets! I'll do a real good # on them. You guys just have to organize it. They can be for different bikes, as long as they make wheels for'em!
