Bought some Galfer Sintered HH pads
With a new front tire. Been using the black "GG" pads, but I realize I'm constantly braking really hard, so figured I'd up it 3 more levels to the HH pads.

Next is another pair of boots. My current ones are in their 4th riding season and wearing out FAST! I'm picking up some SIDI B2 boots ASAP.

If you can clean the rotors by bead blasting (best) or light circular sanding, those pads will be at their best.

What grit paper? I'll head to Home Depot and get some. How long should I spend sanding them in one spot before moving to the next?
What is the benefit of doing that also man?

Galfer brakes are on my track bike too. As far as boots, these are the nicest I've ever seen (my alpineststars are black, note these are the bomb)

The pads 'season' the rotor during break in, thats how they can generate enough friction on a stainless rotor. When changing pad compounds or brands, you need to remove this material or it will affect the performance of the new pads.
Bead blasting does the best job but a light scuff with a scotchbrite pad, hone stones or fine sandpaper followed by a thorough dousing in brake cleaner will work.

They're not here yet Steve. Ordered them from Cyclebrakes.com Thursday. I have had Galfer black "GG" on them and they're still on them. It's time for fluid and pad change. I got the "HH" Sintered this time.

I use the HH pads - I think they are great.
On one road trip a deer and her fawn ran out in the road, right infront of Fish_Antlers.
The deer saw him and split into two directions.
One deer contiuned across the road infront of Fish_Antlers and the other one turned back and headed across the hiway infront of a semi trailer.
The Truck locked up his brakes and the trailer started to jack knife infront of Fish_Antlers.
So now Fish_Antlers had both the Mama Deer and the truck trailer coming at him.
He braked and the deer ran into the bushes and he swerved and went around the trailer that was now over the center line and in his lane.
He said that it was the HH that saved his life.
It was quite the thing to watch.
I had to just let go of what was happening infront of me and not see it as something to get upset about - but something I had to get through without getting tangled up in it also.
We bought deer whistles at the next truck stop.

Research says deer whistles don't work. I use to have them on my car though.

Well installed them tonight in the garage with 2 new Pilot Powers. Also my friend and I changed my brake fluid too.
So to recap today: I put on new front/rear Pilot Powers, new galfer "HH" sintered pads in the front and "GG" black pads in the rear, and new brake fluid. I love garage work. 
I'm ready to roll out tomorrow!

I've been running Pilot Powers since the end of 2004, so I don't notice anything in the handling department. But the brakes do have a little more bite. While out in the countryside I would get going fast and just do some power braking to break them in. I liked.
