Hey... go stick your solo seat cowl on your bike, pull your passenger pegs, stand back, look at your bike... then look really closely at your bike... then get back to us... try to be honest.
Since they built this bike "from scratch", you'd think they could have planned this stuff out ahead of time 
I'll admit things could be better... they always can, but heck Fishy for about half the price of your 1098, I'm totally happy with my new 6R

I think you're missing the point here.
This has nothing to do with the price. The 1098 is only 6K more than a 6R.
You're telling us that locating the reservoir correctly in the first place would have require 6K more "work" per bike? I don't think so.
You do realize that if I had a Yamaha sitting next to the 6R, or a Honda or a Suzuki I could be making the exact same argument. It just happened to be a Duc at the time, and I honestly don't understand why you're trying to cover up blatant engineering mistakes on a product?
If no one ever complains about stuff like this, then what would drive KHI to improve their products? Sites like this let the owners point out mistakes they've found with their bikes, and hopefully find a solution... All we can do is hope the OEMs listen...
In the 7 years this site has been online KHI's bikes have improved vastly. I'd like to think it's in at least a very small part due to the contributions of the thousands of members who've taken the time to notice things like the battery tray being a piece of shit, the cheap phillips plastic fasteners on the ZX-12R, the missing cooling fan on the ZX-14 etc etc...
With the feedback from contributors on this site, KHI can develop better, faster more elegant bikes. Maybe one day they can be the first Japanese OEM to build a bike as clean and simple as a Duc. I, for one, would applaud them! 
So stop trying to cover it up.... Heck... the reservoir's location was so bad even the race team relocated it.

Look at that ZX9R above. See a brake reservoir? Of course not. So according to the above thread responses, Kawasaki is planning in "reverse"!?
I'm not trying to win a beauty or bling contest anyway. Of couse the Honda's come clean from the get-go :P

I am thinking of asking Sagot to machine me a bigger heel plate for the right side of my bike and then connecting my brake res. to the back of it - after shortening the hose.
Any thoughts?

The boyz at KHI were asleep when they shoulda had their thinkin caps on like the boys at Suzuki?
Seems as though it ain't 6 grand more to get that reservoir relocated by Ducati.... really it's $100 LESS if you buy a zook

nice try... very easy to check the level on the gixxer... you can clearly see the level from both behind the bike and from the side of the bike.
Face it... KHI blew it... no way to spin it... no pros and cons... just poor design

I didn't start this thread, merely responded to a question with a picture to help my brothers out. Thought it was interesting to see what Race Team had done with theirs.
Personally, I hadn't much noticed it... not that I'm blind or that it isn't out there ('cuz it is) but from where I sit I don't much see it. I'm looking down the road and into the turns.... I honestly don't spend a lot of time LOOking at my bike, I'd rather ride it.
We all bring different things to the table. Maybe I wear rose colored glasses. I prefer to accentuate the positive in all things in life when possible, maybe even to the point stuff like this doesn't register.
Some of us have more discerning tastes... and a more critical eye. I understand the why, and the need for both... Isn't it great how together we can represent such a big picture!

If you take the took all the brand names off of all the 2007 600's and painted them all the same color and put them side by side - the placement of the rear brake res. is a clear design weakness in the Kawasaki.
I am more interested in how to fix this obvious ugliness then debating if it is just a little ugly or really ugly.
When my friend came over with her suzuki and I looked at her bike and my ZX6R side by side, my rear brake res. stood out on my bike like a hot chick in a black backless dress with a big white golf ball sized zit on her back.
Ugly is Ugly.
