We bought him toys before bringing him home, but he claimed the cat toys too. (haha)

I never heard of a labradoodle until this year. I guess they're very popular. He has more lab in him than anything. He sports the poodle chin hair and eyebrows...it's funny. And, a mix between their furs. He has no curly fur which is nice, because I don't like that on the poodles.

Yeah after we bought this labradoodle, I then just found out about a Goldendoodle from my wife. I guess people like the mix with poodles because they don't shed.

I thought poodles were small, then I realized I was just thinking of a TOY poodle; those are small. But a pure POODLE is HUGE! There is a house about a 1/2mile from mine that I saw 4 in their backyard and they are HUGE. This labradoodle of mine should get up to 70-80lbs I was told. I guess I'll find out by next year or 2.

Congrats Nick! He's adorable. What's his name?
Friends of mine got a Pugle, (Beagle-Pug mix) toooooo cute. It got me looking into "designer dogs" . If you look them on line there's a whole bunch of pictures of Labradoodles, Pugles, Dauchsipoos (sp) and other creative new mixes.
I come from a long line of pure breds, my parents bred and showed, which means I'm all for introducing new blood and creating healthy sound new pet choices!
Unfortunately a lot of indiscriminate breeding has caused some physically and mentally unstable dogs among the Pure Breed lines.
He's a beauty, enjoy.
P.S. Watch Cesar!! The Dog Whisperer Rocks!!

Yeah I've seen so many of those shows with Ceaser. Hell my first day with the puppy I was clowing around making the "SHHHEESH" noise while snapping and pointing.

I took more pictures tonight, I'll post them up later.

...nick, a few things in case you weren't aware...first of all, congrats....nice buddy

...if he's going to be a pet:

1) Take your pup to puppy classes and expose him to as many types of people and things as possible...it'll give him courage and balance as long as the experiences are positive

2) Watch that tail....as he gets older, he will probably run into a few dog-fights because other male dogs will think he's flipping them off...seriously!...dogs like balance...an upright tail can cause fights, a tucked tail can cause fights, a level tail is usually a benign signal

3) Puppy and Dog training is the same as training on a racebike: timing is everything....suck on the timing and you crash, dog and bike alike...shaping his brain and how he thinks as a pup will pay big dividends for when he all grown up...and make you life easier...so may I suggest you go easy on the "shshhhh" unless its for something really important, otherwise it'll backfire on you in the long run...

4) Ceasar rocks for esponsible pet ownership....I named one of my pups after him ....

5) Again, nice pup!
