1.5 weeks had nowhere to go
I've been out ramblin' on a trip I called "1.5 weeks and nowhere to go". I logged it on our local forum and want to share a few posts/pics:
I'm going to try and log a trip with no laptop, no iPad, and without a camera, just a phone
As of tomorrow its on to my daughter's in GA, moms in SC, TN/NC mountains, designer Billy Reid's place, and anywhere it may look interesting within that book on the seat within the Southeast
Ohhhh yeah shack by the track for the real hickory smoked food. No oak nor Palm tree woot
One owner, low mileage, parked for thirty years, and no charge for the portion of the truck already rusted into the earth

Speaking of bbq i saw my special friend jayne today and ate DELICIOUS SC BBQ.
Hickory smoked brisket, southern hush puppies, collard greens, home slaw with dill on top
I drove moms cage i borrowed around back to see the real hickory, yup it is there no oak or palm tree
Highly suggest

Finally at the edge of the Appalachians, Taylorsville NC for curves and friends.
So the kind zombie attendant informs me this gas won't work on my bike because its leaded, Damn, at .37 a gallon i wanted it!

Next, Hickory NC, "Post Office BBQ"......... STRONGLY SUGGEST!
Now we are into the nc bbq, with both white and red slaw. Another no carb delicacy!

I thought if it stayed parked here a long enough for me to consumer an iced venti it may turn into a Duc
Still haven't purchased a tablet, but got a magnifying glass and a stylus for the droid phone
Coming up - Country music hall of fame tomorrow and grand ole oprey. Not into country but i gotta live just a little

Didn't take many pics here but if you're ever in Nashville STRONGLY suggest the country music hall of fame whether you like country or not
More friends and relatives, but again messed around a bit too.
Tin Lizzy lounge, highly suggest. FRied fresh Mississippi cat fish to die for, homemade greens and slaw. I don;t eat the carbs but the southern hush puppies looked great.
Taking a break -the front porch where Elvis grew up. Tupelo, Mississippi
Had dinner with Sheila at Silver Star Casino
Great times. Next is rural roads all the way to Dothan Alabama for coffee with jamie and ronda if one or both will meet me spur of the moment

Crossed Alabama all rural roads. And of course flat tracked some dusty dixie roads.
My bike would look different in this pic had i found a 1200GS button. I'll have an adv bike in the garage soon!
2759 miles and I decided to bring it home. Matter of fact after all day in the saddle I did all night in the saddle and got in at about 5:30 AM. Incredible trip.
Next real trip soon will be 3 weeks off and a ride out west spending time with family again along the way [url=http://s80.photobucket.com/user/stevewfl/media/bigthumb.gif.html] [/url]

Thanks Steve.....looks like a great time! I would like a 2010 + like yours but there is an 08 here locally for $7000.00. 3400 miles.........

Nice!
FYI 've seen 10s and 11s going for 9K with no miles too. And you get the heat management, ABS/traction control, and a host of other things when they changed to the 10 design. But I'd rock any of these 100,000 miles with no worries. Valve lash checks every 25-30K and oil changes every 5 and mine has been bullet proof through all its torture treatment it endures =)

There is a 2011 here I have my eye on also. Black like my 14.....
I really like the 2011 Silver.........think it would be easier to keep clean......

Thanks for lookin out Steve. The 2011 one here (black also) I am offering 10,000 for doesn't have a mark on it. He's as nutty as I am about the way he keeps it. It has 14,000 miles on it though. If you see anything interesting no matter what year,(I do want the second generation like yours, but I can do alot with 3000 dollars or so difference) let me know please. Heck the 08 for 7000.00 and 3400 miles is a great deal I think. Thanks again.
