color is not the only options to consider when considering the next gen connies. here's whats happended since '09:

•Kawasaki Traction Control KTRC
•Fuel Economy Assistance Control (ECU option)
•Outside temperature readout
•Standard Heated Grips
•Electronically Adjusted Windscreen with memory function
•Second Generation K-ACT (Kawasaki Advanced Coactive -braking Technology linked dual mode brakes)
•Low Battery Mode
•One Key Fob and one Credit Card sized key
•Accessory leads fused at 5 amps-
•Part number changed on brake pads
•Electrically lockable storage compartment on left fairing inner panel (center glove box removed)
•Heat management/fairing modifications
•Mirror(s) location changed
•Tall Windscreen standard 2-3/4 inches taller than stock 08/09
•Vents added to windscreen to reduce turbulence
•Mode select button on left grip
•Matching colored case bottoms
•One color seat
•Bottom case mounts redesigned?
•Modified BT-021s U and M spec'd higher weight capacity and more tread
•Increased load capacity to ?
•Fluid capacity increased in forks

Yeah but is it worth the money? I still have a warranty till next year and then get the 2012.
I can do the factory grips,
ALready have a better windscreen.
My heat is managed just fine.
I am not sure the mirror relocation is such a good thing in the summer. Winter yes.
Traction control would be nice in the winter.
Mode select would be nice as well as the temp.
Fuel, management... Hmmm how good is it bouncing off the rev limiter?
Just doesn't seem worth it .... maybe if there was a gloss black. But I don't like flat black and already had a silver one.

traction control is nice everywhere. espcially in gravel or in adventure bike mode (I haven't used it in winter). some boys in alabama couldn't beleive when i dumped my clutch on slick grass with teressa on the back giving the demo.

mirrors are perfect, breeze still hits the hand but they are in the right place

fuel management is awesome and disables automnatically before the rev limiter

i don't blame you for waiting out till '12 though! I'll have mine slap wore out by then if things go my way

Hi Guys,
Just joined your site, I own a 2009 Cherry Diamond Red here in OZ.(Australia/ Perth).
Am seriously considering buying the 2011 model, we call them 1400GTR over here(don't know why?) Some are even sold with the concours14 logo on the side panels.
I love the colour, we've got black or green (which is the same as the "British racing green"
that Jaguar used when racing F1. Man it's always been a favourite of mine. To obtain this model with all the improvements and my colour of choice would be something special!
Just waiting for weather to improve so I can shop around and obtain pricing.
Love your web site and the friendly assistance given by it's members.
Regards,
Bruce

I too would go for the 2011 if it came in green, but flat black is just too ugly. I love my 09 and would like the new features. But I would have to at least like the color to justify the expense. And I have already done the silver. I will probably just wait. for the 2012, may as well, I have a warranty.

Hi Ted,
Sure thing, pick her up this Thursday or Friday.
I've a few things to remount on this girl I removed off my 2009. Like Rad-guard, throttle lock,
Top box and new upper cover in green, American cycles windscreen and my sponge throttle rubbers.
As soon as I've prepared her I'll take a couple and post them on here if possible.
I'm no Technicrat, so I might just send them through email to you if there's any trouble this end.
Bruce

Hi Ted,
Yep, Love the bike with all the changes the factory has made to it!
It handles the same , but I'm noticing the fuel economy as the bike gets nearer to being run in. I've done near on two thousand K's now and things are starting to free up nicely.
Regards,
Bruce
P.S The computer messed itself and also had to be replaced!

I like the green.
I don't think my fuel economy would change that much, I seldom just cruise, I always try to take the twistiest path to where I am going, and then I run with the throttle pinned as much as possible.

Thanks for the list of changes. That is what I was looking for.
Thanks for the Forest Green photos which is one of my favorite colors. Wish it was available in CA, USA.
Speaking of CA the 2011 Concours 14 is now a Law Enforcement motorcycle and the CHP are already adding them to their stables.
I really want a C14 but would like to test ride one before the puchase. I went to the IMS show in San Mateo but it was raining. Had scheduled a trip to Long Beach but there was a huge storm in the area. Any suggestions where to get a good tets ride?
