Halifax
Hi, Been riding the 08 concours alot to get ready for the trip. Not sure I like the air hawk though. My knees are not hurting but the butt still does. Guess I am just getting old. Cruise works great and it is nice to have the Givi 45 for extra storage. Zumo is awesome. If anyone has any imput about Halifax I sure would appreciate it. We are leaving New Mexico on June26 and hopefully be there byJune30. Our wifes are flying there to meet us. I think maybe after 3 thousand miles I might be tempted to fly back with them!!!.
Thanks, Danny

cabot trail is 3 hours east of Halifax. Its through the national park nice ride through the mountains. It would be worth the extra day to drive here. Not much to see in Halifax just a city.

Yup, the Cat, from Yarmouth to Bar Harbor...fucking thing's a rocket! 65 MPH on this beast of a ship...holds several hundred cars/bikes and tons of people...what a trip. I did it 3 times, but on one occasion, they had an engine failure...and speed was only 35...so time was much longer. The other 2 times, no problem. It's the ZX14 of ships...and does it ever thunder when it leaves the harbor. It's powered by 4 Rolls Royce 10,000 HP Diesel engines. One of the fastest fucking diesel ships I've ever been on or seen. It's definitely a trip! Don't bother bringing your fishing rod...too fast to troll.
EDIT: Apparently - the Cat ferry was discontinued in 2009 due to lack of funding and mounting operating losses....too bad. There are other ones from St-Johns to Digby...but not high speed like the Cat was...I wonder if they sold it...that'd be a trip to own for Saturday afternoon runs on the ocean...LOL

Yup - but I think they used that nickname for the one that ran between the NS and Newfoundland...but I could be wrong. Still, it was quite spectacular when it ran!

The Cabot trail was a ride worth doing. Absolutely beautiful road and scenery. I took the slow Ferry. Last time I was there a plane crashed off Peggy's Cove and all the hotels were full of news reporters...still a good time.....the cops were nearly non-existent, I did triple digits across the entire island...

Thanks for all the info.We are going to make a stop in Cornwall Ontario on the way. Still have not decided which route to take from Cornwall to Halifax. The cove road sounds great and we will try to make the time to ride it. Been watching the weather in the area and looks like it rains a lot so I bought some new rain gear. Does not rain much in New Mexico.
Thanks guys, Danny

if you stay in canada and go the thru Quebec then hook on to the trans canada highway you would get a chance to stop in Montreal and Quebec City. If you go to old quebec city you can get a chance to see the old architecture. July is a really good month for the east cost not alot of rain and warm weather . Sounds like you are heading for a long journey. I tend to only do day trips but one on these days Im going to have to get down thru the states. NE to the SW.
Im in cape breton NS by the way

Thanks a lot. Met some some guys from Ottawa at Mt Rushmore two years ago. They were riding back and were on the west coast. Pretty long ride. If any of you guys ever get out to the south west look us up,we usually have an extra room.
