PCIII needed or not?

I have removed the flies on my 09 C14 and I love the performance. I have a friend that said I should install a Power Commander to make sure it does not run lean. I have not noticed and lean running symptoms. What does the brain trust say????
Thanks for you thoughts

Brain says pc3 should be at the top of the list, and hopefully you welded a loop abound that large ugly end of the exhaust thingy to tie a rope to so that you can keep your boat from drifting away.
Yes there are lean spots as the factory setup is not programmed to deal with not having the flies in. So hopefully you have a decent slip on, then just call fuel moto usa, they can sell you the pc3 or pc5 already mapped, it's not that hard to install either. I absolutely love what it does for my connie!
Also, welcome to the board!
Reguards,
Rob

They have package deals. If I had the $$$ the areap full exhaust, pc3 or 5, bmc race filter.
I was the one who egged area-p to build the system, and still feel bad that I don't have the $$ to buy one... My '08 is a rocket sled on wheels, nothing at all like stock, and I know I can power wheelie 1st through 2nd and maybe 3rd. It just runs that strong, maybe I got a good one. That cfatory exhaust you got has to go!
It's my b-day today and I am headed out soon for my 3rd ride of the year.

While it's unlikely you'll damage the engine - it will run hotter when you pull the flies if you don't remap the engine using a PCIII or PCV. It would be my 1st priority Chris. I did the AreaP full system with the PCV and the fuel moto map, all purchased from Fuel Moto. It was worth every penny. The bike hauls serious ass. You will never see "lean" running symptoms on this bike, but it will run lean...and given enough time like that, you do create at least some (marginal) risk of "holing" your pistons..

Wasn't there a bad run of power commanders ? Read on some forums about PC failures, maybe that was the PC3 and not PC V

I had mine fail on the 12 it was a PC3 now I have a PC3r they say they are even worse.

When it failed it left me stranded. If I only new then it was the PC I would have unhooked it.

Lesson to all if bike wont start all of a sudden or starts but wont rev and spuders.

un hook the PC !
