The bikes computer says 40.7 on my last 100 mile run. Half back roads half highway. But if I do the math I'm getting 37.8.

today i was up on 443 in central pa heading to jimthorp pa and i have 49.8 on the computer so i am expecting it to be 48 even or so if i fill up now. no driving over 60 on the tank seems to get great milage in that area. i got 48 by math the real way on a similar ride once before.

Let me know, I'm going for fuel now. Might try 89 instead of 92.

Don't know if anyone else has tried Fitch Fuel Catylist "pellets" in their bike but I've run them in my last three bikes (Kawasaki KLR650, Aprilia Capanord ETV1000, and my 2008 Concours14). On each bike I've noticed a huge difference in the full power range, mileage, and ease of spring start-up.
With my Concours14, I waited until I had racked up around 3000 miles before dropping them in because I wanted to document any differences. I should preface this with the fact I live in Vermont (where between, pot-holes, tar-patch squiggles, and green weanies in Prius' you can seldom reach any kind of cruising speed).
Anyway, before the Fitch additive, I averaged between 37 and 38 MPG. Since the additive, I'm averaging 42 MPG (bike's calculation and mine actually match). On longer rides, away from traffic, she goes up to around 45 (this is two up riding). Two long winters in unheated storage, and spring start-up is a simple bump of the starter.
Also have been known to cheap out and run mid-grade from time to time with no difference in performance or mileage.

i am thinking my fuel milage increase is from the weather getting warmer. cause in the morning riding to the breakfast ride the milage on the flat was a bit lower than the ride home when it was warmer.
i went to 87 with ethenol and got 47 and am now have 93 gulf no ethenol. it is about the same maybe a bit higher. this tank i was two up som and scooting hard to beat rain.
i will say i am taking it easy sort of on it.but it is my opinion it is from warmer air.going from 89 to the bad 87 and getting 47.xx mpg proves it to me.
if anything 89 may be a little better say 2mpg but it looks like 93 is list more money . got all summer to play though.

Fitch=hair tonic...good for nothing garbage that just adds weight to the tank. As useful as tits on a bull. Been there, done that, fucking snake oil for 50 bucks a pop...crap. My bike sat for 5-6 months without a charger and that Fitch crap and started in less than 1 second...you drive like a fucking pussy, which is why you get 45mpg.

How much do you weigh? The comment was really aimed at the OP - because he said something dumb in the "Concours 2009 heat" thread and I lambasted him for being such a fucking dick...it wasn't about getting 45MPG or not...it was about his Fitch snake oil, which I had on a few bikes way back, with less than zero results (which I expected).
I get about 35-38 MPG, but then I weigh 220 /drive at 85+ most of the time and red-line it all day long.

I'm only getting 37-39 mpg, and that's riding quite tamely, weighing in at 185. I'm actually hoping it'll go up now w/the 4-2-1, PC-V, BMC, and 'flies gone. I know this bike isn't all about mileage, but it's nice to have when you're just commuting or taking a trip. We'll see what the mods. did. Just finished 'em up last night.

It won't go up as anytime you get performance gains, you take a fuel mileage hit -- if anyone is telling you that you'll get better mileage with that mod, they're grossly mistaken. I've modded every bike I've had all my life and have always seen mileage get hit as a result, but it's a small price to pay. If you're breathing better, you're using more gas. The map that you were supplied by F/M USA will use more gas...

Average 43 on 89 octane with Area P slip on and PC3 map halfway between power/mileage Maps. I did notice a couple more MPG when using non-ethenol premium.
But WTF, if gas mileage were the biggest concern I would have bought a moped.
