When electric MC'S take over

Electric power is on the way, batteries are getting better as well. How long before the combustion engine is dead in the water?? Either outlawed by politicians (who are mostly brain dead anyway) or the tree huggers that support them....

In the future I do predict there will be a motor law (similar to the prediction of "rush, the red barchetta") 2 stokes will be banned first, then 4 strokes. It is just a matter of time.. When battery technology takes off, say goodbye to your engine.. Ther are many advantages to battery power vs. combustion engine as well.

Electric motors can deliver seeming endless power, and not just regular combustion engine power, but full power from "0" rpm's and above. Insane power, as witnesed by my new cycle world mag. That drag bike in there can do what no engine can do easily, quarter mile in 7 sec range for a whopping 7 pennies???? Not only that ,it can do 5 to 7 runs on one charge!!!!

It was a big undertaking by the sponsors to actually make it work right, battery tech, meets real world, it was not cheap, but down the road it may be..... BUT, and for us die hard fans of combustion engines, you will lose the feeling of the thunder, the raw exitement of power that you can not only hear but feel, instead of silence..... The adrenaline rush in your mind is fed by many things, but without the actual feeling we are used to it will not be the same, not today or forever..

2 strokes are dead, but I LOVE THEM! The noise and the power surge makes them a true bike in my eyes, Tests the riders skill and is easy to work on, they are now dinosaurs, and that is why I bought 2 of them recently,,, 2 stroke exhaust smells like perfume to me...

So, In my opinion, hang on to your combustion engine, you will never have an experience like it again once electric takes over,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ihave put a lot of heart and emotion in this post, and hope someone will agree with me on this subject.

Reguards,
Rob

I agree almost completely. I too love 2 strokes and was hoping the technology would bring them back. But alas. I think electric power will have it's place, imaging a touring bike with absolutely no vibration, sound, and insane power.
But I am a gearhead and love the shriek of an engine at high RPMs. But it doesn't have to be loud. I remember Kevin Schawntz's bike before he went to 500s, That Yosh Suzuki was almost quiet compared to everyone elses bikes and is would send chills down your spine. The power of that thing was impressive.

2 stroke technology is still evolving at least for boat motors. High pressure direct injection works. I don't know if the bike mfr's were forced into quitting on them or they just gave up.

Eventually there will be no combustion engine, electric will win out and that should make the tree huggers happy. Yes it would be neat, but I will still hold onto what I have for the thrill of it.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

Politicians and tree huggers can gripe all they want, that ain’t gonna make technology leap to the next mode of travel. It’ll probably be driven by some disaster. Not the politically correct crowd. I laugh when talk goes to electric cars. It reminds me of people that think vegetables grow at a grocery store, not a farm. They talk like electricity magically comes out of walls and discarded batteries fade away. They are a fad…like the Wankel engine. Fun stuff just not practical. A novelty to distract the masses.
I don't the internal combustion engine will be outlawed as much as it will be come obsolete

I don't know, the tree huggers drove them to EFI and ECUs and the side effects have been major HP and good mileage, not to mention 90% cleaner. We all came out on top of this one.

Electric technology is being pushed at a furious pace, they are making leaps and bounds in this area. It's all in the batteries and tons of money is being spent on them, in the last 10 years they have done more with batteries than the wole previous history of the battery as we know it.

This technology is not cheap right now, but eventually will be. Internal cumbustion engines will cease to exist in my lifetime, and I feel confident on that one. You will gain power and quietness like you cannot imagine, but will never feel like a bike to us as we know them now. A whole new definition of power, seemingly endless in terms as to what it can do as it is all new stuff..
