Dissappointing Stock Dyno Run
Before I install the "goodies" on the bike, I wanted a "before" dyno run.
I was expecting these bikes made more hp stock.
But, mine only pulled 127.8hp, and 68.8ft/lbs torque.
It hit 125hp at 7,500rpm, and flat-lined until power fell off near the redline.
Is it possible the computer had the secondary butterflies partially closed?
(I didn't think to ask the dyno operator what gear he pulled in, but, don't they usually pull in 3rd gear? This was a new DynoJet 250 if that matters).
But, I don't have to worry about the flies any more, as they are now in a zip-lock baggie, and the exhuast is laying on the floor (with a Muzzy's 4-2 about to go on, a PC-V, BMC Race filter, and AutoTune kit for the PC-V).
I hope these mods I'm about to perform will bring it to life, but, with less than 130hp to start with, now I'm wondering if it will get in the 150's...

seems like it is fat (rich)as the hp flat lines. is it only running ecu no power commander?
i would not think it would end up in the 11s for AF at top end.
it will pick up horse power to about 3000 mi. but it seems real rich on top end. i am betting with a pipe and pc tune it will feel like someone elses bike. my zx12r picked up 23hp with pipe.

The stock pipe is done at 7.5k, it has nothing left. The flies out are a great mod but it is not going to give you any gain above 7k. Best bet is wait another week or so and get the area-p full system, I mean near 30Hp gain at 9900rpm is nothing to sneeze at and muzzy doesnt have it. Also the area p is cheaper, not in build quality but price, unless you really like duals.
I have been lucky as of late, my zrx-1200r and this concours are strong runners, I have had new bikes that I really never thought were up to par, but both of these bikes surpassed my expectations by far. My c-14 is real strong, might be the best produced, we will see...

My 09 does feel stronger than my 08 did. It almost feels like they remapped the flies.

Well, knowing the Muzzy was twice the price, made less hp, and heavier, I still went with them. I just got a woodie when I saw those duals. I love the balanced look (especially with the bags on), and stereo sound. It was a VERY difficult decision to make, but, looks & sound ruled out hp this time...
