Looking at a 08
Got back into riding this past April after 10yrs. with out a bike. I wanted a sport touring bike to begin with but didnt have the funds for it at the time. I got a 07 GSX-R 600 and have been riding it almost everyday to and from work (60mi round trip). My wife complains about her back hurting on it even on short trips in town to go out to eat. I have put about 6000mi on it this year and I thinkI have blowed the dust off of the old riding skills. Started to do my homework on the sport tourer that I want and the Concours 14 2008 is what I am shooting for. Looks like what I need for work transportation and put a top case on it and it would be great for the wife. Cant decide if I should trade in this winter or wait til early spring next year. I really enjoy all the posts on here and reread them often. Just wanted to say hello and I hope to be a Connie owner in the very near future.

If your going to get an 08, you might want to check around on EBAY to see if you can get a good deal on one, I am sure there are some new 08's out there to buy and some used ones.

already been looking there. None are close to me. Also still need to unload the bike I already got. The local dealership has always done me right, just need to get my ass down there and talk to them.

i just got mine around september.
it is the nicest bike i got new to date.
the thing is a dream for the rider in all ways.
i wish it got better fuel milage hacking around. 39 is lowest 45.8 highest.
my girlfriend does not like the rear area.for her she gets all the wind blast and feals like it will take her head off. (so i do not know how to rate this but a nother person said the same thing)
i got the tall factory shield and it helped but did not fix it. over 65 for her is not likeable yet.
it will go 200mi before you need to get fuel then seams like it will do about 240 to 260 till out.

The local dealership called this past wed. They just had a 08 traded in. The guy bought it from them this past year and he dident like it (said his wife didnt like it) so he traded it in. It has 1800 mi. on it and looks in very good shape. Going in on Monday for a ride, the weather is going to be in the mid 40's. (better than the upper teens that it is now). They are asking 10,499 but hoping they will take off a grand like they did on the bike I got from them this past spring. With any luck Santa might be at my house early this year. HO HO HO !!!!

Took a test ride this past Monday. This bike is very nice. The real selling point comes tomorrow when I take the wife for a test ride and see how she likes it. The only thing that might hurt me is it does not have a top case on it and I will put one on it when I have it. I know she would like to have one so she can have something to lean back on because she has a bad back. Wish me luck.

Good luck. Remember you can get lowering kits for the passenger pegs.
