I've heard that running distilled water and water wetter gives better heat transfer for a cooler engine. The local superbike shop said that would be good, but do an 80/20 water to antifreeze mix.
Does this help cool down the beast some?

I went to redlines web site and studied what the wetter stuff is about, even looked at the safety sheet. The key ingredients are alcohol, yes, was the first antifreeze ever made as far as I know. The trouble with alcohol is that it was combustible, meaning if it hit the headers it could/would burn, as in fire. Maybe nascar doesn't use it because of that, I do not know...
I would contact redline to see what percentage of water wetter to distiled they reccomend. Of course the whole heat issue might have nothing to do with this, but you never know, my instincts say it might help, but the r/s will be hotter no matter what. A long time ago I suggested someone heat wrap the header pipes all the way to the cat's, it would improve power and get rid of heat at the same time. I do not think anyone has done that.
Rad heat should not physically burn a dude on sorts from a distance of a couple of feet (rad distance to legs), got to be hotter than that, and I never got burned on the l/s..
So the heat issue continues, no real cure as of yet but it's great to see an attempt :-)

Anyone who rides tracks feel free to chime in here, but I guess that all you can use on the track is water and water wetter for coolant. Is that right?
