If you trailer you're bike You better Read This
Be very careful how you tie down youre bike
I had to move my bike today because of the storm, I live in Houma La
I have had it on the trailer once before so I thought i was ok but NOT so lucky today
Much to my Dismay I Snapped One Of My Handlebars
Just Beware Because They are aparently quie fragile and if you tie you're bike down and use the Bars BEWARE
P.S. If anyone knows a way to tie down without using the handle bars PLEASE Share

Ummmm, whoever told you to use the bars,,,needs a serious lesson in tying down bikes. You ALWAYS use the triple tree and go through the bottom of the fairing...bars are a cardinal mistake. I see dealers and tow truck operators use the bars all the time, like they actually give a fuck about what happens to the bike...LMFAO
You put enough tension on the bars on any bike and they will snap...especially if you're using ratchet ties...NEVER use the bars. You can't dump the suspension enough with the little tension you'd need to use in order not to bend or snap your bars...
Too bad about your bike...hope the damage was limited. Better luck next time and thanks for the heads up!

Exactly FBA. I also use the soft hooks, they work great.

Heres the ticket on front tiedown. Puts the straps clear of the bike, and is very secure. Only thing is be careful when you cinch it down to not rub the front fender top.

Forgot to add I am building one for the C14, the center is a 17mm where the Zx is round. but it will work the same.

what FBA said... you can buy motorcycle specific straps, or buy the equivalent for a lot less from your local REI ... what you need are some sewn slings... ( http://www.rei.com/product/722354 )
you could lift up your connie with just one of these straps... best way is to loop the strap around each leg of the lower triple clamp, ensuring that you do NOT trap any hoses, wires or other components in the process. this will give you a good solid tie down point right below your fairing. Make sure you buy some good (non chinese) load straps... I'll take some pics later...

Just make sure that you use some soft cloth under the tiedowns so you don't scratch the front fender!

I have used Canyon Dancers for many years with no problems....but it dont take a lot of pressure to tie the bike down....there is no need to collapse the forks all the way down.....
I also have a few rigs like Master is using but I cant use them unless i take off my sterring dampers....but it puts ALL the pressure on the triple clamp and not the bars.....used in conjunction with my Baxley Chock the bikes are VERY secure
