Thanks mucho!

LMFAO -- and here's why

I was on that forum for years, before thy tossed my snarky ass outta there (bought the ex-cunt an 02 C5 in Magnetic red)..

Anyway, it has the 2LZ package (includes nav and all the toys you can get on a Z). Victory Red ext with a Black int/ red trim...800 miles on it, one month old and got a great deal. Picking her up next week (US car) from VT...no flies to remove, just to open...LOL. You do know they stay (exhaust butterflies) closed on the Z06 until 3500 RPM? And yup, it is the best Vette site around! You're under which name there? I just rejoined under FBA, like here.

Must say this -- sick ride, no Connie or ZX14 in terms of acceleration, but a monster nevertheless...and it does 198 too! I thought it was the king of the heap, until I heard about the new ZR1...just can't keep ahead of the times...LOL

Cheers ole buddy!

I am under TedG just like here. I almost got banned for bashing Harleys there. he he. I saw your post about the flies, an inline switch and you are set. WTF is it with you and flies? LOL
Dude that is going to be a sweet ride. The Nav integration with the HUD is excellent. The nav itself is not too bad, you will probably have a different opinion being more of an expert than I. The stereo sucks(especially the XM), upgrading the speakers helps. The cool part about the stereo is you can adjust every station's sound settings.
What will really impress you is how much more sophisticated the C6 is over the C5. Hey! You are already used to the fob!

I drove it and nailed it hard a few days ago -- man that thing rocks and drives like a Eurotrash car! Quite amazing considering the way it handles the bumps and stays on the road like it's on rails. I see you posted in my thread -- lot of heated debates on that thread -- LOL and I'm staying right the fuck out of it. I was impressed with the raw power of that beast, and all the cool little amenities it features. HUD was nicer than the C5 -- liked that too. I will probably just upgrade the speakers to get a bit more out of it...I have one year free of XM so I'll see how I like that. Can't remember if it had an aux in for my Garmin nuvi...would be nice because it has a Bluetooth I can use and it needs amplification, but if not, I can probably just add an aux in from the rear. Hopefully will see it in the next few days once he clears title and I get her back to Canada. It will be nice to have on those days I don't feel like riding. Won't bother with a tune as I want to keep the warranty, for now, but would be nice to release some more TQ...one day! Love the Bi Xenon's too!

Next best thing to a bike.
This whole bluetooth thing is pissing me off. The Garmin 550 spoiled me. I want the same functionality in the Vette and the Caddy. There are a couple of half baked solutions out there. I can't believe there is not someone out there, that can tap onto the bus between the OnStar and the head unit and do a nice bluetooth interface. They would sell the shit out of them. Tempted to do it myself (Who am I fooling? Have the expertise but I don't have the time, and I sure as shit don't want to tear apart my cars to experiment).

Tada --

What year Vette does though have Ted?

Add your Zumo to the Aux in and you have Bluetooth into your radio -- I have this in my 300C and it works like a charm. I use a Nuvi 760...but you can use any Garmin that has an aux out...

BTW, I tried to stay out of it, but got beaten up by some self-professed God there...so I just had to let him know...LMAO

Yet another Anal retard peckerhead? LOL

Mine is a 2005 the very first C6 in Reno and one of the few Precision Red ones built.
I was talking about having something that works through the Nav. I have seen what you posted and there are some other solutions out there. One called a Lockpick and another from Scochse that actually work through the Nav unit and allow you to use the nav while driving.

Oh -- that's what you meant...ok. The NAV has been disabled through the canbus/VSS signal. No signal/no NAV lockout...but I will be using a Garmin, once I figure out how to integrate it into the dash somewhere, as I did in my 300C. Just need to figure out exactly where though...

What Scosche has done is to block that signal on the Canbus...

What exactly do you want to achieve through the NAV...Aux in, Bluetooth or functional NAV while moving? I'm thinking you can get all of that with products currently available...

I am mostly interested in having bluetooth for the phone that can use the phone's address book etc through the nav, but now that I think about it there is probably no facility for the phone book to display. I understand that there are several solutions to get the NAV to work while driving, I would like a unit that takes care of both that and does a good job with the bluetooth. My new caddy's nav has a phone book for the OnStar that would be ideal for a bluetooth solution.

You can do that with a Garmin connected to your Factory head unit...if you can find somewhere to mount it where it looks built in...the Nuvi will work perfectly for that...I do not believe Bluetooth exists in the Vette...

I understand a garmin will do all that, and that may be the way to go, especially in the Vette. Muting the system and making it like built in may be a matter of interrupting the output with an amp mod.
The caddy has an OnStar address book that show up on the nav, that needs a cool interface.

Ya,l like the Garmin's. Unfortunately, we're limited as to what we can do with the factory nav units...
