Speedometer accuracy
Does anyone ride the C-14 with a gps? Just wandering how accurate the speedo is on this bike. I think out of all the bikes I had, only 1 was accurate, they usually have them reading higher than actual.
On my 2000 'busa it was like 10% off, but there was a way to correct it. If you had the use of the factory scan tool you could change the gear ratio (front/rear sprocket) to correct it. Does kawi provide this option? I do not know if it could, being shaft drive, but you never know..

The consensus is that the C-14 speedo is about 4% high. I've checked mine with GPS and that's about right, maybe a little lower like 3.5.
You can make it dead on by installing an electronic box called a speedohealer.

That's pretty close, I really wandered because on thursday I decided to hop on the freeway (55mph) and was doing 60 and got passed by everyone, I even went to 65 with the same result, but it must have been that everyone was in a rush...
I do have a handheld gps, 60csx garmin, But never took it with me yet on this bike... My klr is way off, probably 10 mph at 60mph....
Never heard of a speedohealer, but it's worth looking into.. If it would work on the klr it would be a must have, but 3.5% on the C-14 is not much..
