Pick it up Friday

Will be picking up new Connie on Friday and am wondering about accessories. I want to move the handlebars back and up and was told about something that fits into where the grips screw into the extensions. Anyone know where I can get these? Also my wife and I will be going on vacation and wondering if anyone has opinions on the Kawi trunk vs a backrest and soft luggage. Hey I am excited. I will have to part with the VTX 1800 with 78K miles and I will miss it.

I would ride the bike before I did risers, I was going to lower and move them in, but after riding it I got used to riding with ape hangers.

Congrats zeexman! I broke down today also and traded my vtx18c on a new c14! That thing is smooooooth brother! The riding position feels slightly leaned forward to me. I'm 6 foot, but like you, have been riding a vtx which is very different. Like TedG said, I will ride it for some time before deciding on any changes to the bars.

In reference to the trunk, there was a recall on the bike for the rear luggage rack that the trunk would mount to. Do a search and check this out.

Enjoy and I know exactly how you feel waiting right now for the new connie...good times.

Where did you pick your up? Gorgys? I am going thru Folsom where Forest and Brad from Roseville are now working. Are you in the Stockton area? I now have to part with the VTX and ZX10. I sold the VTX once before only to buy it back.

I live in Reno/Sparks. And when I said ape hangers I mean the stock bars. They feel like ape hangers to a sport bike rider like me.

Picked it up minus the cases which need to be fitted with the new latches. Rear tire not recording pressure. It is a different ride than the 10 or 14 and way different than the VTX. Hope the rest of the experience is better than the first day.
