great gas mileage
I picked my C-14 in sept. and already have 8500 miles on her. at the 7500 mile service I had the tech adjust the engine balancers (he had no idea what I was talking about until I took a posting from this site) new plugs and oil and she glides just fine. When commuting home from Stockton in the afternoon with the windshield down and my hand resting gently on my crampbuster, (at an indicated 90 mph) I get reading of 50 mpg to 55 mpg, just sipping as we go ( certainly in between my shredding any self appointed road monitors that dare get in my way) she runs good!

50 to 55mpg is not possible unless you're going downhill and with the wind, or running at high altitudes. You'll be lucky to reach 42mpg at an indicated 90mph. Better calculate the mileage manually to get the real figure.

I think you can get 50 if you just ride gently, Mine averages about 38 in cold weather and 42 in warmer weather and I am heavy handed.

I got 42-44 all day today -- hammering at 80-100 hard throttle, but it was like 48 today...

Are you guys with the good mileage calculating it or using the bikes numbers? I find the bikes calculations to be somewhat optimistic. I get 42 mpg droning on the hwy with fuel moto's economy map and as little as 32 running it hard (real hard) with the standard fly's out a/p map. I AM nearly at sea level so I suppose that's a factor.

i was just browsing this forum to see what the mileage is on the C14. A friend of mine told me his Goldwing on long haul highway trips gets 50 MPG at steady 70 MPH. And thats just hard for me to beleive. If thats the case I need one.

The thing about the C14 is it is so much fun to twist the throttle. But even riding hard it get good milage. Mine popped back up to 42ish because it was warmer (although it snowed today) I still believe you would easily get 50 crusing at 70 in which the engine is under 3k.

I calculated miles and gas put in externally from the bike and I got 50 mpg on a tank that saw a lot of 80= and some 100+.
i think if you really stay out of it and drive it right, you could get almost 300 miles on a tank.

I calculated my MPG yesterday at 46, doing 80mph on the highway and not taking it easy. Best tank ever was 48mpg calculated. Yesterday I took 5.5 gallons after 255 miles. If I rode it a little easier 50mpg would not seem to be too far out of the question.
I am all stock except for full exhaust (2006 ZX14 header and Muzzy slipons).

On a trip to the Dragon from Montreal since last Friday and I've logged almost 1900 miles to date. I am getting exactly 40 MPG consistently at speeds varying from 55-80...average RPM's are 3500-3800 and temps are between 72-90. My buddy's 2007 FJR is getting about 41-42 at the same speeds. Bags are loaded and add another 50 LBS for a loaded gym bag.
