Has anyone tried any of the laser jammers available for bikes? It seems like that would be the way to go, it should eliminate the problem of it being too late when you get the warning. I know they work great on cages so why not on bikes?

I've been whining lately about paying $10 a pop for a set of replacement batteries for the helmet display. Mostly because I forget to turn the thing off. Today I bought 100 batteries on ebay for $29.50 shipped. Even if they only last half as long as the radio shack version I'll still be way ahead. We shall see....

I'm sending the in helmet display in for warranty tomorrow. It started going intermittent a few days ago and now nothing. With fresh batteries.
Also I watched a laser armed cop shoot me for about 10 seconds today and the thing didn't even blink. Not that I care about, too late, laser detection. The radar part is still working well other than the IHD.

worm, I just bought a set of batteries and it was $10 like you said, Pretty pricey. I was thinking about getting a 6 volt rechargeable and just using it. Although that 100 bat deal sound good too. Didn't you turn off the Laser like you told me to do???

Ted,
I sent my laser antenna back for warranty because it was doing what yours did. I didn't bother installing it until a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure I enabled it at that time but now I'll have to check. I was happy it wasn't falsing again then had to laugh when it did nothing yesterday.
Edit; checked it and yes the laser function was turned on.
That first battery deal on eBay fell through (not in stock) then I found one for 125 Duracell's and paid less than 50 cents a piece for them. Low and behold they're the real deal! Now I don't curse myself so bad when I leave it on.

Here we go again. All in all I am not all that jazzed about the Whistler. The range seems poor and the in helmet thing is a PIA because of battery life. So here is a new one designed for motorcycles. What to do.

Buy it and let me know if it's worth a shit if you like it I’ll get one too. I’m not all that thrilled with the Whistler any more either. It has done it’s job, though sometimes I think I’ve just been lucky. For now it’s better than nothing or rigging an automotive unit to the bike.
