Reached max lean angle for C14 today
Today I rode with some serious sport bike guys with lots of track time. I guess it was big ego but anyway I decided that I would ride with the fastest group and rode right with the 2 top guys and we pulled away from the rest of our group. I stuck right to the lead R1 and R6 like glue, jamming the brakes into the corners and bouncing off the rev limiter going into the straights. I actually had to let off a few times to keep from running over the R6, but I didn't want to pass as I don't know these roads. Yes, it was a little bit crazy but damn fun. Anyway I was getting way leaned over in the turns and dragging pegs hard as I often do, but today I took it to another level. I actually ground down my gear shift level and lower cowling on the left side. I had no idea that I had done this until tonight when I was checking out my tires. I tell you, I would have never thought it possible to lean this bike that far, but today I managed to do it. I had actually cranked by suspension up just so I could have maximum clearance and still I drug the cowling and gear shift level. I tell you, these Michelin Road Pilot 2's have some serious grip.
Looks like I'll need to work on hanging off the seat to avoid tearing up my bike!

Impressive, no doubt! Would be so cool to have someone set up with a camera in one of those corners. Those pics would be awesome.

I've only just nicked the right foot peg. It looks like I've got a ways to go.  BTW, nswenson, are the Pilot Road 2s are holding up well? From what I see, it looks like that's the real question; as the question of grip is clearly answered on the side of your bike!

I've got about 1000 miles on these and they look good so far. Unfortunately I'm not the best gauge for tire life as I don't get to ride in the twisties that often. Most of my miles are commuting 84 miles round-trip by interstate.

What I am glad to see is there are some decent tires out there. I am going to finish the winter with the Bridgestones, unless I decide to go on a long ride in the wet. Wet traction on the BSs sucks big time. Anyway it is Michelin Pilot Road2s for me. I will just order them this winter and have them ready to mount.

Did the 600 bikes come back all scraped up from the run, or could they have been pushed harder

If they had pushed to the very limit I'm sure I would not keep up. On the other hand three bikes wrecked on that ride including a 2 week old GSXR-750. After the ride the guy on the R6 said that's as fast as he'd go on the street. On the track I would have NO chance to keep up. I've seen photo's of these guys on the track and they really push it. I'll take my C14 to the track, but I'll ride in a lower class than these guys ride. I'd just get in their way  .
