Engine a bit noisy at idle.

I have 9000 miles and while on a 400 mile ride today, in traffic in Sacamento today I noticed the engine seems a bit noisy. Almost sounds like the cam chain. Maybe the balancer shafts?

smokinZX14 posted something a while back about his bike regarding noise and adjusting his counter balancers (?) ... may be worthwhile to ask him about it

No, the clutch made no difference in the noise. I have been riding Kawasakis for almost 40 years and I am used to their straight cut gears.
This most likely is the balancer shafts just getting a bit loose. I have adjusted quite a few of them. The funny part is it seemed to start all of the sudden. It really isn't all that loudl.

Normal -- most jap sport bikes exhibit this type of behavior.

Believe me it is not the clutch, I know what a Kawasaki clutches sound like. And yes the clutch makes noise in neutral with it disengaged. Still don't believe me? Lets see I was a factory trained Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Triumph, BSA, Can-Am, KTM, Penton, Husky, and BMW mechanic. I was working in bike shop in the late 60s into the 80s. I was doing wheelies on H1s (pissing off the shop owners) before most ever laid a leg over a bike. I have been around. I just decided to get an education and work with my brain instead of my hands (and back). But that doesn't make me any less of a gear head and still have the Snap-on tools to prove it.
