More info. Today I took a ride in the wet and wanted to see how the well the radar detector worked. Not too many cops out I think they were all working overtime because of a damn harley event we have here called Street Vibrations. And all those poor bastards on the Harleys with ape hangers had to ride home in pissing rain with their armpits in the air. At least they will get them washed.
The placement is perfect, I could push the buttons (I had a pen in the glove box) while moving. In the daylight even with black clouds and the Arai black shield (very dark) I could see the display just fine. Never got above 56 degrees WTF happened to fall, we went straight to winter. The helmet thing is not yet perfect, There is no real place to put the unit on the inside of the helmet and have any kind of access, so for the moment I have a piece of Velcro (hook) and stuck it to the helmet lining.
All in all it seems to be a great detector for a motorcycle. I can park it without worrying about someone stealing the detector. No wiring to my helmet . very painless. And I have a temp Gage and an all the time volt meter to boot.

Ted, can you post a pic of your indicator install? I may want to move mine.
And you know you can turn off the LED if you're using the helmet light.

I will dig out my camera and post them for you if I can. Charter sucks when it comes to accessing them. If not I will email it to you. Also I read through the manual and do know I can shut it off. I like them both on. I accidently turned the helmet light dim, It needs to be bright.
Where I have it is, the where the plastic bezel for the spare accessory plug and the left hand plastic cover meet and form a point. The square blue display is 1/4 to the right and 1/4 inch down..
