...the brochure indicates an optional top case is available....what does it look like, how does it mount, and how much does it cost?

...thanks, ozzy....ugh...I think I'll pass on the top case...too big...makes the back end look even more funkier in a bad way....I think a high-capacity lower-profile soft water-proof round or sqaure case across the width of the rack between the side bags would suffice for any length of trip...a three-way rack like that on a Ulysses would be cool...fold the rack forward so that is carries the load instead of the back half of the seat when you're solo...fold upright to act as a backrest for your passenger...fold back to secure the soft case when you're 2-up...whaddaya think, ozzy?

I think it looks like crap, way to tall and narrow, but then I think the ass of the bike sets to hi for a sport tour bike anyway. There is no reason for the tail to set that hi considering the intent of the bike, sport touring. Hell, Freddie Spencer can run faster laps on a stock VFR 800 than the fastest of the moto journalists do on the CBR954. That tells me having the ass of the bike aimed at the moon isn't necessary for any performance criteria. The only thing the sky hi ass does is try to be cool, and on this bike it DOESNT!
But what do I know, I haven't seen it in person..
I would prefer it be more to this design
