I like the whole slipper clutch technology, but still not enough reason to exchange for the 14.

Hopefully Honda will do to their litre bike exactly what they did to their 600RR in '08. If so I'll have one in the garage (yawn- the 14 and '08 busa isn't doing it for me).

but wait...what is happening to the 14 in '08???

I still think the kaw will perform better. All around. The look to better on the busa. Thats why they didnt change much about it. I think it would be a waste of time to get one. Just get a 99 or something for dirt cheap. Then put the big bore stuff in it. You may even be able to put the 08 plastic on the older bikes. Theres not much difference in them. Looks like ill be stick with my 14

Not to throw-off the probable Smackhouse thread developing here, but I had a question about the new Zook. It says that it has a "Suzuki Drive Mode Selector" where the rider can choose from three different engine settings... can anyone tell me what that would be useful for?

I think there are three settings:

1) Pussy

2) Girl with Strap-On

3) Man

Hope that helps.....

Actually it does help, thank you. It also tells me that they spent precious engineering time on something truly useless.

it looks like they kept the front of the original bike and let Ed "big daddy" Roth design the rear half of the bike. now all we need is a t-shirt with ratfink riding the new busa.

You had to call a dealership to find out how to change plugs on a motor?

And you took a dealerships's advice?

I would never take advice from a Dropout/GED kid that's paid a few dollars an hour. Especially if they told me to tilt the damn motor to change a plug, you shoulda just came here and asked.

1. I kinda liked the old Busa look. The 08 front end is fine. The ass end looks more weird than before. Not much of a fan for the 08 ass.

2. Power being equal and weight being close I would wager that the Busa has a better top end than the 14. Back-to-back wind tunnel tests of the 14 and Busa were conducted by Sport Rider magazine (Oct 2006) and clearly showed that the 14 had more drag, especially with the rider aboard. It's not all about horsepower or power/weight. Aerodynamics are important at very high speeds. Of course I don't ride over 150 mph, but there are some bragging rights associated with top speed. Yes, speed is "limited" by an agreement (not a law) to 186 mph but just de-restrict the bikes.

3. I like the two fans. Hopefully Kawi will step up to that. I think Suzuki has been gathering ideas from the 14 riders.

4. If the power selector works like it does on the GSXR-1000 it controls the opening of the secondaries and the fuel metering. Mode A would be like flies out on the 14, Mode B is like the current secondaries which open only at high rpm, and Mode C is worthless (it keeps the secondaries closed). Personally I think Kawi should adopt this, at least Modes A and B.
I'd probably never use Mode B but Kawi could still claim that they have "made the bike safer for novice riders".

5. All that said, don't get me wrong. I'm a 14 fan. I prefer Kawi to step up to the 08 Busa challenge and address the overheating issue and the low rpm power restriction.

I don't care what you own...but your post have no technical merit regarding the 14 or the 2008 busa.

This statement just proves that you don't how to read manuals and you also know nothing about suzuki's becuase there is a suzuki model that has the same spark plug removal proceedure as the ZX12R. Just becuase you own a Busa doesn't mean you know Suzuki's :P
Try reading some manuals before you post crap like that ???
And if you truely can't read then I am sorry bro becuase I was not trying to be mean only to correct you false statements....

take heart my slow busa owning friend there is some truth to your statement in that depending on the method used tilting the engine maybe required to measure displacement or to scope a cylinder

the busa may out perform the 14 on top. But at the trac. The 14 will dominate. The bike was built for the track. Its gearing is set just for this purpose.

Lol! +1! Now THAT would be cool to see! Funny... I have not seen any mods that make it so you can change out the hump for a clean design like the 14 cowl. Am I to believe that the Busa-Boyz like that thing jamming them in da arse?

i was able to take off the valve cover and the plugs on my 14 The book says you need to remove the throttlebody. It takes some moving back and forth. Plugs and cover arent bad. I havent worked on a 12 yet.

That's good news...I'm in the market for a new bike. But, as far as frame and motor design...the two look very similar to me.

It weighs the same. They added 2mm to the stroke and 1.5 c/r to it so it shoud perform at least as well as the 14.

I do not like the look of the back of the bike though. Suzuki must be using this as a stop gap since this is certainly missing the mark.
