I'm curious about the 2 injector set-up. I wonder if they work in series or parallel. If they are capable of flowing significantly more fuel the 'Busa should love its nitrous.
I think that it would be great if the factories built open class bikes that anticipate user installed nitrous or boost. It seems perfect for them. They could totally side-step their liability concerns as well as their warranty obligations when a motor gets fried. And we could go faster more easily.

I never liked the look of the old busa and this one does nothing to change that!!
having only recently purchased my zx12 i have asked for opinions on the bikes of the same ilk and was told the same thing over and over again, that the busa front end was problem, Now I'm sure i read that the frame, wheelbase and steering geometry has been kept the same, apparently so that all aftermarket bolt ons will still fit and i'm guessing the front end will have the same problems too!
Was this advice re- the original busa incorrect or or did someone forget to mention this to suzuki!!
What i really find hard to believe is that a group of people looked at the pre production clay model rear end ( which i seen in a mag the other day) and they all went...yep that'll do!! if i can find it again i will post it!
It Provided a few minutes of humor, I think the benefit ended there!!

Well, I called my Suzuki dealer today and inquired about the release date of the 2008 Hayabusa in the Washington DC area. I was told February, 2008. That's too bad, really. I was pretty much set on it from what I've seen/read. As long as I liked the way it felt on the road, I would have bought one. The thing is, I have to ride, so I guess I'll, "settle," for a Concours 14
Oh course, considering how popular those are going to be, I might be riding mid-Feb. after all!

Supra... "For any given displacement the bike with the shorter stroke makes more horsepower."
Not automaticaly true. Only after the displacement over time exceeds the longer stroke engine. That means only if the shorter stroke engine can continue to make hp above the peak power rpm of the longer stroke engine.
In the real world a lot of time is spent getting to the peak hp numbers. Road racing, and drag racing as well as street come to mind.
Displacement is always better than reving the smaller engine for longevity and torque.
But if all you care about is peak power numbers then yes, reving the short stroke engine higher will give you added displacement over time to move more CFM thus making more power for a given displacement.
Its a give and take.

Interesting article I read:
Good news for Busa owners: frame is the same so aftermarket parts (swingarms etc..) will still fit
Bad news: New higher compression ratio (from 11.1 to 12.1 I think was the number) means no turbo or nitro without an engine improvement.
Other crap if I can remember

??? i thought drag racing was a "pulling" event, you need torque to get off the line and the more the better. hp #'s are for front pages of magazines and are not a good indicator in themselves of real world performance

Just bought a Blue one and should collect Wednesday, can't wait. Have had my current (full power) one (Blue/Silver) from new in June 2000. At least this one is Full Power with just a speed limiter.
Should sell the old one, but think I might user her in the Winter only (obviously cause the much lower power makes it easier on the slippery days!!!!), keep the new one for the rest of the year.
