The guy in the concours forum above said the gas tank was 21 liters. That's only 5.5 gallons! If this is true, what was Kawasaki thinking?? For the serious LD Sport-Touring rider there's no way that 5.5 gallon capacity can compete with bikes like the ST1300 that have a 7.5+ gallon tank. There are parts of the Western US where having such a small tank would have you constantly worried about where the next gas station was. Just don't ride at night in states like Nevada with such a small tank or you'll be spending the night with the coyotes.

Like everything else with Japanese motorcycles, the new Connie was probably designed for the European and Asian market. A 5.5 gallon tank would be just fine there. I've lived in places like England where there's a friggin town every 5 miles so no worry about gas.
