horrible... less than the 12r's 180ps, less than the 14's 190ps, I know its a touring bike mayble I'll swap the variable valve timing head..

wonder what they improved to compromize the peak HP that much? broader torque band (hard to believe)? better mileage? better reliability? or are bikes HP restricted in austria?

What do you people expect out of a Concourse!? Seriously???
Buy a ZX14 if you want to see performance numbers. By Concourse if you're into retirement and smelling flowers on the side of the road by the Holiday Inn.

I think traditionally Austria & Switzerland have 75% less horspower than the rest of the world (except France) - that would make it nice and powerful here.

Agreed. With that sized tank you don't want to be going across parts of Nevada at night. You'll never make it.

Absolutelly unacceptable for a sport tourer. If the gas mileage is about the same as ZX14, that would give it only about 200 miles, full to dry (mean not empty......dry). Then be prepared for a long walk.

There can't be many places in the US where a gas station is more than 100 miles. I'd guess the engine is tuned for a bit more mileage than the ZX-14, though. If you want more performance and a great sport tourer, take a look at mine.
I've got less in it than the cost of a Concourse, with a lot better performance and handling I'm sure. The comfort is just fine also. I've ridden 1500 miles in 2 days. I wouldn't mind removable bags like the Concours, but it's a very minor issue. I have the heli risers, which help a little with comfort but the shape of the screen and tank only allows for 1" risers. Still, comfort is very good, dramatically better than the liter bikes I've ridden.

seems strange they did not use a larger tank, that seems small for a sport tourer. I think the 6 speed tranny is a good deal. wonder what the deal is on their web page. at the start they showed the warantee to be 12 months then a while later they showed it @ 36 months and now it is back to 12 months
also seems very strange that there was all the talk when it was fist announced and write ups in the magazines and that the dealers were going to be able to order in Dec with delivery around April or May
since then I have not see any new info in any of the magazines about it at all. also the dealer now says he think he can order in June with a delivery of August or Sept. most of the summer will be over by then. I was hot to trot to have one right off the press, but now I wonder if they are working out bugs or just why there's no new news out there about it. I reallize it is a 2008 but it just seems strange that there was all the talk and write ups and then this long dry spell. and the dealer could order in Dec and now who knows for sure when they can order. my hot to trot is fading, think I will give it a while and maybe look at next year for a new toy. my fjr is just getting broke in anyway

Some of us dont want a chain drive or 16 head lights or poor passenger accommidations and as you noted dont want to be humped over the football.
Hell if I wanted all of that except the 16 headlights, the ZX12r is perfect.

Well, the headlights work well and all my passengers say they are comfortable. Being humped over the tank has it's drawbacks, but is sure seems like a good position to be in when you're trying to use all 200hp.
