Power outlet

I keep reading reports that this is an AC outlet. I think the journos are smoking crack...

12 VDC would make a lot more sense, I guess I'll find out at the show.

You have it right. It'll be a cigarette lighter outlet, just like the competition.

There simply isn't enough demand for mains power on a bike PLUS the batteries are generally anemic.

Those few people who do need mains power can plug inverters in.

why not? I installed a cig. outlet and brought in inverter along on the 14's we rode this summer. Spent one night in the tent watching a movie with the laptop plugged into the 14. Was fun!

The point being that it would be silly to have 115VAC available, when all of your accessories use 12VDC.

OK, if you look at the dealer brochure it says:

"Accessory-Power Outlet

Located in the front fairing for powering optional accessories such as grip heaters."

That makes it 12 VDC for sure.

brochure of the concours 14

I got a brochure here a couple of weeks ago here in CANADA. tALKED TO THE SHOP OWNER and he said the seat height didn't seem to be that high, but bike feels light sitting on it towards the last concours.
