Arai reps. in the video state the price will be slighly higher then the outgoing Quantum helmet. Depending on paint scheme, Quantums go anywhere between $400 and $650.

I'm on a blackberry. Can't watch it. The rx-7's retail for $815 and they are on sale for $399... Wouldn't you rather have a $800 helmet for $400 instead of a $400 helmet for $400?

I'd get the new helmet that meets 2010 standards and was freshly manufactured - even if both were the same price, but that's just me.

my understanding was that helmets had a shelf life - though many think otherwise.... I'm going to check into this.

I think its when the start to stink or if the helmet has suffered too many bug impacts the helmet should be replaced do to the possible structural integrity being compromised by the high speed impacts of the bugs

that I do find surprising as the arais (and now I'm not preaching arai blah blah so hold back!) are basically totally configurable to custom fit to your head... you should watch the video about fitment (above) ... I'd be surprised if you couldnt get a prefect fit out of them....

shoei is a great product too

That is something that I think could be done a little better is updated designs. Not just on this helmet but a lot of the designs look 80's or 90's..

Do you think calling me names fish makes you smarter? If I did choose to go there I would brush up on my Japanese for the natives of that country. I'm not selling my product or my services there so you point is without relevance. Take your nose out that ass! Bias, Bias, but what this is where you and I differed before. Besides, you would never know my background nor my talents sitting from your perspective. How's those PM's? You are not the only talent on this planet...

I thought his english was pretty darn good - my personal opinion is that you're acting like a dick when you try to criticizes someone on something petty like trying to answer technical question in what may be a 3rd, 4th, or 7th language for them.

just not cool on your part IMHO.

if you were picking on the content of his answer or you didn't agree with the technical shit - that I could understand, but it's a big world and I find it particularly offensive that people think everyone should speak perfect english, and that this find it hilarious when someone cant.

Well Our opinions are different not warranting the validation of "right or wrong". You have criticized different cultures and opinions on this forum when the application doesn't apply to your standards. You dish out a lot of opinions but come to the aids of others that you deem necessary of protection. Once again you reduce to name calling when I post my opinion on presentation. Whether you think I'm cool or not is irrelevant and I don't need your approval for my validation. I just stated that if I was to present my product or service, I would research my audience and apply my deliverance accordingly. Your customers still want PMs, are you going to continue to badger me or help the followers that continue to show this site loyalty(including me!)?
Keep in mind that the original post is about Arai helmets, what motivates this energy?

sorry,,, I'm not sure where i've critized different cultures - unless you're talking fun BS talk in the smack house where anything goes ... but this section of the site is about technical discussion - not smack.

I'm also confused - you suggest that I've reduced this discussion to name calling when you clearly slagged the japanese fellow for his poor english. as for the Pms that you continue to bring up - 1st off you suggest that you're a customer, but we dont have customers and you dont pay a penny to hang out here so please get that straight. this is a free service and pretty darn good one at that considering it's 100% free. 2nd as i'[ve pointed out repeatedly but your english comprehension is apparently as lacking as the japanese fellow you love to hate's english pronunciation - freek is in charge of PMs so you need to pester him about it, not me. i have aboslutely nothing to do with the PM system. not my dept.

now - this thread is a technical discussion about helmets. if you want to talk smack please go to the smack house and have at 'er - complain all you want in their - slag people who cant speak english very well in there - heck start a whole topic about it in there for all I care. but it wont fly in this topic.

We are the customers. This site provides a service to us. Just as it provides a service to the sponsors...whom you would not have without US. This is your site, pm's are ultimately your responsibility...after all, you are "Da Big Cheeze".

Arai helmets just seem too expensive for the average rider/racer. A Shoei is much cheaper, and very well regarded. I just don't see a compelling reason to switch, even though Arai is a site sponsor.
