UPS Shipping Cost more than he already lost so far! In theory I agree with you H-2 but right at this very second I have sent a past back to ca company in Fla that Gave me a RA then when they got the part back heard nothing from them and then when I stayed after them they finally said 25% "ReStocking" Fee which would be $250.00 added to the shipping from South Africa, My FedEx Shipping to them and then the $120 in Cell Phone calls from SA only to find out that the unit would NEVER Ever Do what they said it would do! I will have to file a complaint with the Credit Card Company but only after I do a litle whupping on them throught the FTC, BBB, The Florida State Attorney General office and the Florida Office of Consumer affairs! Now that I have Muddied up their name I will not see about getting it back from the Credit Card Company!
This is a lot of work to do but this is what I do for a living and making people pay me is FUN!

+1
I've been through such before as well, plus this was not the original agreement of one for one swap.
Bottom line, dealing with them is a nightmare and I want to share my experience.

They've been all over the board the past few weeks, but now they're not being active posters recently? Odd. I agree, bad buisness etiquette.

It sucks that you have to go through this horseshit. I find that if I simply must have the right item quickly, I make a deal to pay for the second set if they don't get their tires back in a few days. Usually they go for it.
The local Kwak shop gives me a smokin deal on parts and accessories. Not as good as the internet but close. I buy all accessories from them including tires. That creates good will and supports our local business. Anyway I burn through tires like no ones business, it is worse than a crack habit. This last year alone I have burned through 10 sets of tires between the 2 bikes.

Wow...this is such a one-sided story. Must be because you are the moderator of this forum, so I don't expect this will get posted.
I know the people at MPH Cycle Shop and the lady you mentioned. She tried to make good a 'deal' you made with Don. Don no longer works there...and whatever 'deal' he made with you wasn't part of the way they do business at MPH. Hence why he doesn't work there anymore.
Now on to the tires. If you indeed did get shipped the wrong tire, they made it clear they would make it right. You insisted they ship you the proper tires before you would send them back the wrong ones. Then you told her, "forget it, I'll just keep these". She was polite during all the conversations. You acted like a spoiled Junior High kid and wanted them to kiss your behind cause you work for Bikeland, and when you didn't, you started whining. There are always two sides to a story and your side makes you sound like a whining kid.
My advice is to a) grow a pair and b) stop whining and send the wrong ones back. They are a reputable service center and have the best dang prices on most parts.
Now, let's see if this makes it past your moderation...

I'm on blackberry and haven't read your whole post but as far as don, he made a promise as an agent of the business.
As far as the lady, I have left two messages for the owner and either he hasn't got the messages or doesn't care to return my call. It was suggested I call him and I tried.
Moderator or not, I always try to use site sponsors and I post results. If you seach this and many forums you'll find many extremely positive posts regarding sponsors.
I am not reporting my horrid experience as a mod. but as a customer.
And NC is home and you will be hearing me on forums I'm not a mod and in the community in the spring.
I tried to discuss this with owner, again no returned calls which is what I expected from MPHCycles so let's keep this BS up on internet forums, that will be fine too

That is a typical response when it is not your own money at risk. I like the comment where you state kiss your ass cause you work for Bikeland. LMFAO.

Yea, I'm waiting for a bikeland check!
They'll be surprised who all I know and what is posted on local forums when it gets riding season up there and I take my bike back up.
His post will be included as I'd hate to be one sided.

I only mentioned you worked for Bikeland, because that's what you told the lady on the phone....since I know her, I tend to believe her.
You don't explain what type of deal you made with Don (Just that you IM him). Sounds like you know him and have an axe to grind with MPH after he got fired. You're quick to mention he was an agent of MPH Cycle, even though he no longer works there because of these sort of deals. Yet you won't just send the wrong tires back....hmmm. I guess it's more fun to type-O-whine?
I do agree you should get your money or the right tires. Why don't you just send them back and get a refund...??
Buy tires from anybody anywhere on earth and see if they'll send you another pair without you sending the wrong ones back first. This just doesn't happen in the real world.
Good Luck to you in the future!

cdamdent,
An agent of the business promised to ship me tires and take these back. Simple, only one trip for me.
I don't have this in writing or it'd be legally binding...so basically I'm screwed. We can argue all day on the Internet. And I'm surprised the owner hasn't returned my calls.
Bottom line, its been a horrible experience for me dealing with MPHCycles. If you review my posts, this is the only business I have posted negatively about. Matter of fact, I'm happy to say all the others have been positive.
And at the end of the day I'm sharing my experience so maybe others can see what I've been through.
Come riding season up there I'll be sharing this experience on other forums (that I'm not a mod like that matters). Also I'll be riding up there back home with friends as I do a few times a year and will put the word out in the Ashville/Weaverville/Hendersonville/Murphy area that I had a terrible experience with MPHCycles.
Beat me up all you want, I'm fortunate its no longer "one-sided" and appreciate your replies.

Too bad we have an anonymous internet poster taking up for MPH, and not the company themselves. That speaks volumes.

Well if that's the case................. Why hasn't she done something.. Simple facts are Steve is a long time well respected member of this family.. He may be one silly bastid when it comes to the Unions, but if Steve says your girl fucked him she did.... Tell that silly beeeotch to step up and make the deal right and I'm sure Steve will gladly post that she did.. It's the power of the the press here and she's getting some bad press.. Is her fingers broken ? Tell her to come here and make shit strait.. Maybe we'll see it her way and correct Steve in his childish ways if truly that's the case.. She needs to do this herself NOT a mouth piece speaking for her....

gunner stevewfl is a man of principal. the former employee of MPH said he would send the correct tires out right away, along with a shipping paid shipping label for the return of the others. Then he's gone and the manger lady wants stevewfl to send the other tires back first. If it was me, I'd be unhappy also, but if they sent me a label, I'd set the tires buy the front door and let UPS come and get them, get a refund or wait for my tires. But that's just me, I'm a solutions guy that's tired of living in the problem. Stevewfl does know a hell of a lot of bikers. If it were my business, I'd have refunded his money and gave him a set tires, after ****ing up the order

recap:
MPHCYCLES: Will sell you Pilot Power 2CTs for X amount
Stevewfl: OK, I'll purchase 3 tires
MPHCYCLES: accidentally shipped wrong tires. Agent promises to ship correct tires at no additional charge, and at the same time they arrive UPS will take wrong tires back with shipping slip provided.
Stevewfl: responds "great, lets wait till I get back to FL and can take the tires back for pickup"
Stevewfl: calls and says "hi MPH, can you send the tires on over here and pick yours up"
MPHCYCLES: "NO. Ship yours back 1st. Then, after we receive them, we'll ship you another set"
Stevewfl: that is a hassle and opposite of what MPHCYCLES promised, please do a one for one swap as promised by your business.
MPHCYCLES: "He is no longer here and owner told me thats all we can do"
Stevewfl: politelty explains "OK thank you very much. I'll keep this and am not happy. please be aware I will post up on several forums, and let folks in your area know I am completely disatisfied with doing business with you"
MPHCYCLES: politely ends call.
since, fish suggested I call the owner. I tried twice and left messages - nothing.
MPHCYCLES, there is nothing wrong with me putting the word out in your area and several forums on the internet that I am very dissatisfied with your customer service. Now add to the facts that you wouldn't return my calls. I'm not claiming you ripped me off, I'm only warning others it has been a MISERABLE experience dealing with you.

cdmadent,
end of debate. if the owner calls (or are you the owner behind a keyboard) and makes right on the business's promise, I'll post up a much different customer service picture. right now I'm pissed, this is like the worst transaction in 2008 for me and I've spent some money.
and everyone on many forums that knows me can explain to you my posts are extremely positive.
