Having worked for Ford , Dodge and Chevy for allmost 36 years i can tell you first hand they all made crappy cars .. Ford was allway the hardest to work on of the 3 , Chrysler was the in the middle ...Chevys good old small block no matter the size it was a cake walk to work on ..Ford had the crappest motors and didn't last long and very hard to work on ...Chevy motors were ok but still gave out faster than Chrysler ...The 318 and 360 were the longest lasting of any of them ..I have a 98 SST ram that is care free other than tires and batterys ..The 360 mag is a great motor other than it gets crappy MPG .. Point is Toyota , Honda put them all to shame ... The big three had pleanty of time to play catch up but didn't ..They kept making crappy cars knowing that Jap cars were taking over the US car market .. Now they dump the problem on the Dealers ? The Dealers did not cause this problem ... Shit rolls down hill as allways .. Now the Shit is rolling down from Capital Hill right down to the Dealers ..
I can remember a day when Nobody would by a jap car , they rusted out before you got it home from the Dealer ..Everybody called them shit boxes ...Now it seems the shoe is on the other foot .. GM want to Import cars from China because they can't build a car the US wants ...We are Fucked ...

Smokin' these people are so brainwashed they can't see past the "made in America" sign to see the American companies have been fvcking us. Most people in America refuse to drive the garbage anymore.
Had the arthur of the letter invested in a BMW or Toyota dealership, Obama wouldn't be humping him and snatching his loser brand non-selling chit

True Steve ... GM built crap and sold us a bill of goods ...Heart Beat of America , it should have read The Heart Burn of America .. Now GM is going to import China Junk and they are going to charge us 1300 more per unit than the America Junk ...Woopie we are all going to die ...Ford was the only one with a brain and didn't take the bailout money...Lets all hope Ford doesn't slip up ..

Yeah, once Ford strangles the UAW fat cat bosses a little more I may buy one.
Plus the only reason they're making it with no bailout is those plants in Mexico making the top selling truck and small cars. Kudo's for them blowing past the UAW and being financially sound!

GM and Chrysler are still using pushrod motors in their stuff, WTF? Even the "mighty" Hemi  and ZR1 motor are pushrod motors. Even Ford fazed them out in the mid 90's . . .

Gm does make a vehicle people want. Its called the suv. This piece of shit socialist rat in the white house just tries to make people feel guilty about owning one. Before this economy started going bad gm sold damn near every truck it made at a price that got people in this mess. I mean who didn't know that the inflated prices of everything were going to come crashing down . You show me a better motor then the ls-1-6 motors. Ever take a look at the motor in the v8 Toyota trucks. What does the intake remind you of ? ......................Bill

I rather have an LS-6 454 and do burn outs in front of the White House while getting 6 MPG , just to piss off Obama ...  Hey what ever happened to the Al Gore car ??

Actually the main reason Ford is not haveing huge issues is they do not build a serial number until it is sold and they also limit their "pool" stock based on sales instead of union agreements......
Some may add that they also spend very little on R&D

Kaz I'm so with you on the UAW. Not even Biden the union lover can save their criminal bosses now.
As soon as Ford washes its hands of the union I'll buy one too(if Obama allows me a job in the US). Note I said that, a Ford for me when the union fat cat bosses dissappear.

Its so sad that these one time industry leaders(the big 3) will fall victim to themselves mangement and union...when the smoke clears maybe it will be better for everyone to see who is standing. I understand the goverments reason for stepping in and offering the bail out but its as plain as day that these companies were not very solvent and they operated on false wealth..they were totally over extended.Lee Iacocca had some interesting comments on Daimler Benz's role in Chryslers current situation. Steve I know you can dig up what he had to say,its pretty interesting.Remeber this too everyone,I dont know about your area but in New York the service departments of every god damn dealership is so fuggin corrupt that lets say that you had a decent car that had a smal problem,remember like a decent car.If you go back for a small problem the dealer robs you blind and lies through their teeth.So now you have a consumer who was on the fence about the car and now the scum bag service department pushes him over to the other side,whereas a good dealer may make that consumer think twice...

The last time I was a meeting at the Innesfield truck plant it was shut down ....... I wonder how those overpaid workers felt about their union bosses right then ??? LOL
I have also learned that American Axle and major GM supplier will be moving most of the their production jobs to Mexico....... last year they were on strike and no they have no jobs..... I guess listening to the union about going on strike was worth the effort LOL
