1098 vs ZX-10R
I recently sold my '04 ZX-10R and am thinking about the 1098. How does the 1098 compare to the ZX-10R in terms of the following:
1) Acceleration
2) Braking
3) Stability at speed (150+ mph)
4) Wind protection
5) Mileage range on full tank
6) Handling on back roads
7) Comfort
I am 6'1" and the 1098 feels pretty comfortable sitting on it at the dealership.

Hi Magzx12r,
I have the 1098S and it's a cracking bike, I think the ZX-10r is probably better in 4/5 of the 7.
I'd say the ZX would have the 1098 in Acceleration, wind protection, mileage and maybe comfort.
The 1098S has sublime brakes and is very stable at high speeds, it handles well on the back roads too. It you have the cash I recomend getting the S as it is a little lighter and has better suspension.
Stability at speed is a funny one, cuase the 1098 apparently has a top speed of 165mph so the ZX-10 would walk it there, but the 1098 has that grunty V-twin pull through out the rev range.
They are such different bikes, and the only thing I would add to the above is that the 1098S in black, is full on pornography for the road.
I'm 6'.3" and about 107kg's and the 1098 can feel a little small at times (like a gorrilla riding a football) but it has never been a problem. A very capable bike.
Cheers,
Reggie

Fish, do you like the Busa better than the 1098?
