Ducati Dealers

I was looking at the new duc 848 and was really excited over the price tag. You have great looks and a bunch of other things in a great package. The one thing I was wondering to ask Ducati owners is of the experience that you have had purchasing them. I wanted to go down to my local dealer but somethings really discourage me to do so. Is it like a Ferrari Dealer? What you see is what you get? Do they negotiate on these machines.(I know they don't on ferraris). Also when it comes to service how bad do they knott your wallet up. Are interest rates crazy? Do they have programs like kawasaki? I'm just curious because I would think that they are the higher end and they just tell you a price and you either take it or walk away. Your experiences would be great to know for my hunt.

depends on where in the country you're located... there are lots of amazing Ducati dealers, and like other brands - lots of irritatingly shitty dealers as well...

Tell us where you are and maybe someone can give you a recommendation!

We have Commonwealth Ducati here in Louisville Kentucky. I think they rank up there pretty high among Ducati dealers nationwide. They have someone from the east coast heading up there service department, who is quite the Ducati expert I guess..............don't know his name, sorry. Here is a link from ducati monster.org showing some of the store. They are working on their website.

Here is an article on that service department. Looks like his name is Bruce Meyers..........

Meyers Performance, Inc. of Meredith, NH is a motorcycle technical services consulting firm started by Bruce Meyers, Ducati Hall of Fame tuner. Meyers will be managing technician training and developing new opportunities for the Service Center specifically related to performance upgrades and racing applications.

"People always ask me how retirement is but I've not really done that", says Meyers. "Since I sold BCM, I've been doing a lot of consulting work, helping Ducati dealers and independent shops with training and technical advice. That's what I'm doing here with my good friend, Ed Staloff, and Commonwealth. I'm also looking forward to making new friends in Louisville. My goal is to help build Commonwealth into the premier regional motorcycle service center. I also plan to work with the Commonwealth's race team both locally and on a national program. And I love trail riding so watch out for me in the woods. At the same time, I'll still be heading back to New England to help manage Fishtail Riding School, shameless plug here, www.fishtailridingschool.com. To quote my favorite Kentuckian, Nicky Hayden, 'It's all good!' See you in Loo-ah-vul!"

And the entire article...............
