This Sunday, Stop and take a moment to honor our Veterans

It was meant to be the war to end all wars. On November 11 take a moment to honor the brave men and women who have given their lives in all wars so that you can enjoy the freedom we often take for granted.

The poem "In Flanders Fields" was written by John McCrae on May 3rd, 1915...

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

A few years ago, I visited Flanders Fields and took these photos...

Why one Sunday? I go to church on Saturday the 7th day the one the Lord Rested on so you think he will be alseep on Saturday as opposed to his first work day? Remember he did the Most work ever on the 1st day when he created this place! (According to all of the Bibles I have read!)

Is that a Citizenship Question? If so, then I failed! I have already learned something today and it was a good thing! SO please let me be "Humble" in Peace!

Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep,
May the soldier
or sailor,
God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.

Fades the light;
And afar
Goeth day,
And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise,
For our days,
'Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.
