What wheel is best for money on a 1098?

What are your thoughts? I am debating on either the 1098 or the 1098s. I am hung on the mods I can do myself, for the same price as the "s" model.

What mods could make it better than the "s" for less, or the same? Can I tune the base suspension as well as the ohlins components? Is there a difference with the steering dampener, on the two models?

I figure if I bought wheels, then I'd have a set for the track (slicks, or rain tires if I wanted), so that is a plus. And it would be worth it to go a little over the "s" cost. Are different manufactures wheels even lighter than the "s" wheels (of course within a reasonable price)?

Thanks,
Todd
