OK! Just got the 1098 back from the dealer... I had about 800 miles on her. For those that don't know, my bike has always been a bit sketchy below 4K RPMS, its idle was screwed up (1750 to 2200 RPM), AND it ran richer than Bill Gates. I brought it up to Portland Ducati (Moto Corsa) and they did the following:
1. Replaced ECU. Mine was the ECU that came with my Termi's (not the original ECU). This was overnighted out and returned a day or 2 later. Apparently, even though it was a Termi ECU, it was an older one and was replaced.
2. did some timing fixing??
3. fixed the mixture (maybe part of the ECU?)
4. fixed the idle
WHAT A DIFFERENCE THIS MADE. The bike runs MUUUUCH Better all across the rev range. It not idles between 1250 and 1400 (1400 if cold)... right in where it should and its SOOO much smoother and more responsive. No stalls at all and not rich AT all. I STRONGLY recommend you bring your bikes back to the dealer if you have the conditions I mentioned above. Keep in mind, I NEVER had the stall problem...
