Real Bummer
I placed a deposit for a 2007 Ducati 1098 standard in red with my local dealer for a bike which was supposed to arrive this week. Today I call the dealer to check on the status and am told that now I won't be receiveing a 2007 model that it will be a 2008 and they can't tell me when my bike will be arriving or even when they will begin producing the 2008 model. A call to Ducati north america was of no help either. Anyone know of any dealers that have any available?

Picked it up yesterday
I found one! Picked it up yesterday in Pittsburgh. Thank you to Lee at European motorcycles of Pittsburgh and some fool who backed out on his order. What an amazing bike. Everything they say about this bike is true. After 12 hours or driving in the rain and a 100 mile detour because of a flat tire on our trailer , this is what I have found out in the first 40 miles:
1. Before you go driving 600 miles to pickup your bike, check the trailer tires you dummy
2. It hates to run below 4000 RPMs
3. The mirrors are as worthless as tits on a bull
4. It is definitly a bun toaster, after about 15 minutes in traffic my ass was on fire
5 I have never ridden a bike that handles so well
6. The sound is amazing
7. With the exception of the mirrors the build quality / fit and finish are top notch

YEEHAW!!! You'll like the bike more and more as you drive it. Not sure if you guys noticed yet, but PowerCommander has just updated their site for the PC-IIIUSB for the 1098.... I bet a proper map will help us a bit under 4K RPMS. My bike seems to run rich as hell down low, so rich that you can smell unburned gas for a long while after I shut her down after a put around town. I think the PC-III will be here on or about the 25th....

I just saw that they have the power commander for the 1098 on Ebay today. My wallet is a bit drained right now from the big purchase yesterday, but It will be interesting to see if it helps. Im sure if anyone on here gets one they will let us know. It kind of sucks right now trying to keep the RPMs below 5000 and the bike runs like crap below 4000. Doesn't give you a lot of powerband to work with. But hey it looks and sounds great. I took it out for about 30 minutes today at lunch and I seem to be having the same stalling problem as a lot of other people. It seems that Ducati has invented the worlds first green light sensor, as my bike seems to want to stall when hot in neutral with the clutch out just before the light turns green, leaving me sitting there looking like some doofus who can't ride a bike. Hopefully this works out by the 600 mile checkup or I will have to take it to the Duc stealership before my ego gets even more bruised. Maybe I should have kept the bike I traded for a backup. See pic:
