quote:Jack Cardiff's GIRL ON A MOTORCYCLE follows the on-and-off-road adventures of Rebecca (Marianne Faithfull), a beautiful young woman who can only find freedom on two wheels. Rebecca leaves her nice-guy husband (Roger Mutton) and--wearing nothing but a fur-lined leather jumpsuit--hops on her beloved motorcycle to meet up with her lover (Alain Delon). This 1968 erotic film combines trippiness, existentialism, and gorgeous footage of the European countryside to create a unique and intriguing tale. The lovely young Faithfull, then-girlfriend of Mick Jagger and a singer in her own right, was a major sex symbol of the Swinging London scene. Her sexy role here garnered plenty of attention. The movie is one of only a handful of films directed by Cardiff, a renowned and prolific cinematographer.

OMG!!!!!!!
Girl on a Motorcycle thread caught my eye because Hubby and I had seen it on cable a few months back and we were so tripped out by it we hunted it down and recorded it!
It's flippin' HILARIOUS, in a hippy-trippy '60's sorta way.
Marianne Faithul spends most of her time riding around with her head back and her eyes closed in what appears to be a full blown cycle-gasm. (ahhhh, I remember those days ) all the while there's this English country side scenery screening behind her! IT"S A MUST SEE!
and thanks wormy.... that's a nice compliment...almost.

You must prefer the calm smooth meditative rides where music in your head like that would work. Though I would lean toward say 'Dark side of the moon' Now for agressive riding you need much more aggressive music. Or if classical is your thing, Ride of the Valkyries.

I honestly don't know if I would ride with my MP3...
I listened to the tunes that came with the Garmin - not the best music, but that was my first time riding with tunes.

Bush - Machinehead lyrics
breathe in breathe out
breathe in breathe out
breathe in
tied to a wheel fingers got to feel
bleeding through a tourniquet smile
i spin on a whim slide to the right
i felt you like electric light
for our love
for our fear
for our rise against the years and years and years
chorus:
got a machinehead better than the rest
green to red machinehead
got a machinehead better than the rest
green to red
i walk from my machine
i walk from my machine
deaf dumb and thirty
starting to deserve this
leaning on my conscience wall
blood is like wine
unconscious all the time
if i had it all again
i'd change it all
breathe in breathe out
breathe in breathe out
breathe in
breathe in
breathe in
