AssCar channel

Ladies and gentlemen. PLEASE join me in emailing the AllAmerican AssCar channel ( also reffered to as SPEED) to voice your displeasure over the fact that we're not even getting SDD Phillip Island WSB coverage. Putting it on the following Tuesday is an insult. I'm sure they'll have every BillyRayBob left turning bubba and his uncle TALIKING about BobbyRayBob's chances to beat his cousin at the next Viagra bigblow 200 coming up at Richmond.......... Fricking pathetic. I wish ANYONE ( Discovery channel OLN, etc) could pick up AMA, WSB and MotoGP. SPEED SUCKS!!!! Let them know with an email if you feel the same

That's the problem...... defend Speed if you want, they SUCK....... how about a deal to get SKY coverage direct from Europe?? I'd pay......... The defense of Speed " they are the only ones" ( not an origional position) doesn't cut it. Speed SUCKS, and motorbike racing ( roadracing) will always be the redheaded stepchild as long as they get to cover it. Look for motocross to do well though, SAME crowd....... flame on

Maybe it is because millions of people watch the nascrap showss and only tens of thousands watch the 2 wheeled events. Maybe more people would watch the 2 wheeled events if they had decent commentators and pre-post shows that were worth watching.

Isnt there a new channel that is starting up this spring, the Motorcycle Channel? Or did that deal fall through due to lack of $$$?

Yep! Nascar is on FOX practically the worlds most watched network and its CABLE FREE! Everyone gets the channel! More than half of everyone has NEVER seen motorcycle racing. Put it on FOX and the fans will GROW SEVERELY!

Speed used ot carry more motorcycle programming, but they dropped most of it to run nascar. The m/c shows were there, but so lame no one watched them.

When WSB and MotoGP are on the same weekend, Speed delays the WSB coverage until Tuesday - you can still TIVO it.

It's the same sorry rant I've been on since Speed went to Fox. The handwriting was on the wall. The delima for rracing in the USA, how to grow the fan base, bring sponsors and growth to the sport, etc is difficult. Unlike Europe where everything 2 wheeled racing is adored and followed by millions, it will never happen here ( like soccer) IMO......... too many other things for people to invest time and interest into, and motorbikes are generally toys instead of daily transport for most.........While I would love to see the interest grow here, I know personally I'll probably NOT attend another MotoGP event at Laguna............ the racing "Event" has outgrown the Monterey venue, and the sheer number of " Event" participants requires way more patience than I can muster these days. Yeah, I emphasize" Event" because for about 1/2 the crowd I believe the actual RACE was a secondary consideration.............No easy fixes.........guess I'll go suck my thumb now
