So if I understand you right there is a code that comes on when the bike needs service and it takes special software to get it off? If so that sucks for the guy that would do his own maintance.

1200 miles now, so the spurs have finally come out. This thing is DECEPTIVELY quick. Bangin' up to 10K ( no sense bumping into the limiter which I did several times 2nd through 5th just feeling it out), Clutchless upshifts work best as the 1098 spins up REAL quick when squeezed hard. It pulls hard enough that the front end is often 6" off the pavement through 4th gear........impressive. Saw an indicated ( read optomistic here) 170 on one short chute leading to a blind rise, and it was still pulling well. I figure that was probably an honest 155 or so. Anyways, I was wrong. I AM pretty impressed with the power delivery. It's a different delivery for sure, but I'm thinking the 1098 is straightline quicker and faster than my worked over 99' R1 with 144rwhp on the EDR dyno. Bottom line, for street riding the rider will be the difference, not the machinery ( as usual) I expect as it loosens up it'll make a little more power, and @ 3500 miles or so I'll switch to Red Line syn. That's it.
