1098 / 1100S Crankshaft
Hi, I am new to the 1098Desmo Forum. I am looking for some technical information on the 1098 and 1100S Crankshafts. Would anyone know where I can find either a blueprint of each crankshaft, or explicit techinal data...journal diameters, widths, main to main spread, oil timing, alloy, counterweight dimensions, output shaft dimensions/splines. Just wondering if Ducati affords some possibility of fitting this 1100 crank into the 1098? ... a slightly shorter Ti rod with the longer crank using the Stock piston (or perhaps aftermarket pistons w/stock rods).
Just a thought...pick up the airflow on the cylinder heads, digitize, edit and CNC Port the heads, add Ti Valves, copper beryllium seats, cams, plus a few more modifications, bring the power curve into a higher rpm range... . 71.5 x 104 ... 1216cc ... 200hp? Might need to make a billet crank at this point though. Thanks in advance for any information. TK

chatted with DNA regarding this... they can't release the specs, suffice it to say that the engines are completely different so there is a high probability that this wouldnt work.
