Fish- Thanks so much for all the info! I have an 03 ZX12R so I am very familiar with the intoxication produced by raw horsepower. However, for me there is much more to a motorcycle that its accelarative potential. I have owned several Ducatis (74 Sport, 78 SS900, 87 Laguna Seca, 92 SP3) and as you have stated- they were VERY satisfying bikes to own and ride. These bikes are not about horsepower only. They are greater than the sum of their parts. The look, the feel , the way they respond to their controls, the way they sound... They are designed and built by people who have a passion for motorcycles and it shines through in the bikes they sell. To people who appreciate these intangibles, a Ducati is "worth" the money. To others with a different mindset, they aren't... That being said, I will probably order a Tricolore in the near future (wife permitting). I will also keep my ZX12R for its unique qualities. PS I am not a "poser", a yuppi, or someone who cares about what other people think about what I ride.
