2007 Duc maintenance

I read a statement in another thread "All 2007 Ducati models require less frequent service, less parts and labour during each service and, as a result, greatly reduced scheduled maintenance costs - by as much as 50%."

I didn't want to highjack that thread... does anyone have specific info on this topic?

The dealer I spoke with said the bike was still a nightmare regarding maintenance. Maybe he really didn't know what he was talking about?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

The only experience I can give you mine... first hand from owning a 900SS for 4 seasons...

Maint. was a lot less than I expected... Most of it counted on finding a mechanic qualified to adjust the valve system. After that was sorted, the rest was easy... bike required regular interval adjustments (same as a Kawi, but not a Yamaha)... belts for valvetrain needed replacement at 15 or 25 K (can remember ... was a few years back now)... other than that bike had narry a problem... Parts dropped in price to goulash levels in about 1998 when US interests invested in the company... belts cost me $15 x 2, oil filter was like $12 and then some valve cover gaskets.... rest was like 1-1.5 hrs labour for adjust and that was it... little to no bodywork to screw with.. everything comes off and is easy to get to...
