Ducati 1098: Voted Most Beautiful Motorcycle at Milan Show The new Superbike 1098 has been voted 'Most Beautiful Motorcycle of the Show' at the 2006 edition of the Milan-based EICMA show. This verdict came from over 24,000 motorcycling enthusiasts who took part in the annual survey by the Italian magazine 'Motociclismo'. The new Superbike model from Borgo Panigale won over 30% of the votes.
The award highlights the public's huge enthusiasm towards the latest creation from the Italian factory, providing further confirmation of the enormous amount of energy and resources Ducati is channelling into new product development.
Furthermore, for 2007 only, the 1098 is also available in an additional, special 'Tricolore' version (green, white and red, the colours of the Italian national flag). The Ducati 'Tricolore' tradition began in 1985 with the stunning 750 F1 and then continued with the limited edition 851. The latest 'Tricolore' is a 1098 S with the additional features of frame and wheels finished in traditional 'racing gold' colours. A power-increasing 102 dB Termignoni racing muffler kit with dedicated ECU is supplied with the bike.

What is that ugly thing on the swingarm anyway? Is that really a weld? Perhaps it's where they buffed out "HRC" or "SSSS" (Suzuki Single Sided Suspension)...
