2003 GSX-R 1000 vs. The Rest of 'Em
Hey Guys,
I owned an '06 1000, sold it, miss it, and have been looking for a replacement. I found an '03, stock with low miles and have been entertaining the idea of looking at it. My question is this: after owning the '06, will this thing totally disappoint me? The '06 was a flickable beast of a machine with a fantastic low and mid range. I know the magazines always like to hype up the difference in models years, but for those of you that have ridden both models, I'd appreciate your unbiased opinions. Thanks...

Ok.... I'll go with my instincts and assume pre-'05 1000s belong in a museum and not in my garage. Thanks for the silence- it speaks volumes

Actually CraZX14 the 03-04 gsxr is a great bike and it depends on what type of riding you do most of.
The 05 up will steer quicker, and feels tons lighter then its predecessor's in 9/10s corner carving but the 03 is rock stable plus with some chassis mods would be a match for the younger 1k.
If the price is decent i wouldn't pass it by and i personally like the looks of that year, plus the riding i would do with it Mostly straight line'' it would be mine..............

Thanks or the tip... My main concern is the difference in raw power....

Yeah, I really liked my '05....but I found an '03 with 3,500 miles...pretty much like new shape. I think I can get it for just under $5k...still thinking if I should grab it, or wait and spend a bit more for a newer one...
