Yeah, and so you think peak hp is everything?
You still don't get the topic of conversation, I am talking about what people perceive, and what they will buy. Nothing to do with potential and what is real world usable.
Also I have found that Kawasaki does a much better job of dealing with altitude, could be their ram air is better, but a busa above 4000 feet seems to suffer more than the 12. And 99% of my riding is above that altitude. Same thing with the GSXR.

not really an "enemy", but between the 3 of us maybe you'll see the real deal my friend. until then, the debate lingers on anyway
I just can't figure out what Kawi did to win such loyalty from you. they roll out a bike thats not what many of us expected and you're all over the damn thing !

Steve, you just don't understand the hardware.
You love Honda's, which says that you value refinement over power. Which is why it is so ironic that you are complaining about the 10R's power output.. In fact, this new 10R will still probably rape the Honda.
I have 3 kaws, 2 Hondas, and 2 Suzuki's in my garage. I laugh when you guys try to imply that I am so brand loyal...
Everyone here is just focused on out-of-the-box hp. There is so much more to this bike.

Actually I could care less about Honda and have a '10 Kawasaki and a Yamaha in the garage!
I'm the most unbrand-loyal person i know.
Now back in '08 I was betting on HONDA doing the litre bike of the year, I was as wrong as I was about Kawi in '11!

Steve, the way I see it is that every year there is a new model, you love to stir controversy. That is fine...
But really, there is a lot more to this bike than the hp numbers. If the bike made class-leading hp, you would then complain about the handling and lack of refinement. That is just your way, and you are welcome to it.
This year, you have been on a BMW kick...next year, it will be the next latest and greatest...

Honestly I was on an Aprilia (V4) kick, feel free to dig the old threads. But its no secret the BMW came along and surprised everyone. Then i suspected (and said) the '11 Kawi would kill it and now that it hasn't you're all over me with this stuff.
One thing I always say is competition is good for us all.

This place has really picked up since the new 10 has came out of the closet For quite awhile this place was dead as hell. No matter what, I will thank the new 10 for that.
2011 ZX10R, thanks for making Bikeland an exciting place to be again

Quite a few of you guys are talking about the 10 as if you've seen one, ridden it and raced it.
How can you possibly have any idea about this thing before there is a legitimate report on it?
The supposed test in Calgary don't count in my book.

OK, I know people personally who own the 2011 ZX10R and it is said to be a better bike in refinement than the BMW and the power is on par if not better than the BMW! So who here has one that they can test and speak of in disappointment as everyone here has done or is doing??? This is crazy!! Its like the bike has been out on the streets for the last year and has had an opportunity to prove or disprove itself! Why in hell am I even in here laughing at this stuff?!

and those people you know (as the bike is barely available) own both the BMW and the new 10R? I find that slightly hard to believe, but I am listening... Give us some good news

Wheelie must live outside the states, there are none I repeat zero 2011 ZX-10R's in the
U.S. The first batch is still on board a ship, they will be in warehouses next week and at
dealers end of Dec-first of Jan. Power output is still a mystery but I did find it strange
that Akrapovic has the bike on their website but no dyno chart, neither stock nor after.
This is the only sportbike thay currently do not show HP numbers for, why?
Maybe Kawasaki told them to, if this is the case your in good company Fish.

Not sure where else they are but I was surprised when the calls started coming in about they are on the floors! They are coming like 1 or 2 at a time and you may have to drive a little depending on the dealers status... But please be "INFORMED" that they are "HERE"!! And look'n good as hell too! LOL... Hell the looks are a thumbs up for me! and they're smoooooth as hell also! Almost wanna sell my 2009.... Hell NO! just a thought! They are really nice though.... Even have a secondary plug and play to kill the closing of the throttle bodies. But the guys haven't recv'd them yet in order to test them. But its look'n pretty good so far! Be back in a few days with more "INFO"!......... Come on "Fish"! you're the informant! not wittle ole me....

I just do not understand! Bikes have "ALREADY" been sold guys daag!.... Now sales have been brought to a halt and you can only make a deposit on the bikes coming in. The bikes that have been sold were early release models. Dealers have to ship the early release models back eventually but some do remain on the floor at dealers "who have" them! I could have had the black and green a week ago without a problem if I had been ready to make the purchase and now that same bike cannot be sold. Its not like the bikes were only sent as teaser display models or something.... they were for sale and if your dealer "just" got his then he got it late and has to send the thing right back. I also heard that they were confronted with the problem on 6 of the early release models when the bikes were provided by Kawasaki for test rides and feedback sessions. Anyway, at least they recalled them back before a ton of people had them out on the street with the engines blowing leaving you stranded and scratching your ass trying to figure out why in hell has my brand new bike blown! Kawasaki isn't know for blowing engines anyway other than the ZX11's #3 cyclinders going out over time because of the lack of oil feed. They were thinking about servicing out a 2011 ZX10R at an associates dealership just to get a real ride on the thing before it goes back to Kawasaki because the first one they sold the guy was there waiting on them to finish the prep so they really didn't get a chance to ride it. They were waiting for the other one to sell to get the ride but Kawi called! The next shipment is due soon so its not like its going to be a long wait fellas... I'm going to hang around the dealership for the next few days just in case they service that baby out because the this thing really feels small and light and the dealership is surrounded by twisty roads with long straights!
