Inspecting this pic closely revealed this- I had installed the front sprocket incorrectly,
had to be turned around (flat side towards the engine and writing facing out... duh!)

Looking at some of the other pics I come to realize how careless the guys at GMD Computrack must have been with my bike- this swingarm came from a zero miles bike that was being parted out and certainly didn't look like this before it was put on my 750. Having a straight frame comes at a price I guess

I'm not sure if I've previously posted about my local tracks,
here's a link of the Monticello- we will be riding the 66 version this season:

First time out in the sun- I will put on my wheel set with the slicks tomorrow (matching color!),
might trailer up to NH and put a few miles on a "private course"...

The bike will need to be dynoed with the new exhaust but today was sunny and in the mid 60's
and I logged in roughly 75-80 miles with a new set of sc1 front and sc2 rear Dragon Supercorsa Pro- mounted on the original wheel set that I bought the bike with.

Surely it was all done by highly trained professionals on a closed course!!!

A close up of the Yamaha monoblock front calipers mounted,
I was quickly reminded why the Vesrah RJL pads are highly recommended as "race only" pads- when cold you practically have bicycle front brakes that just don't stop well at all...

I will mount wet tires on the blue wheel set that I have- need to fix this slight bend in the lip of the front though

Everything deemed expendable and not needed for the bike to run has been removed so far
(really long list such as- the side stand and switch, the radiator fan, the horn, the rear brake switch, the left hand control housing etc.)

One thing I finally yanked out was the ignition

Here's how it looks now. The killswitch on the right thumb controls on and off on everything and in the on position the starter button fires the bike up- a little bit of splicing, soldering and with the help of a 100 ohm resistor... keyless is light and cool

For anybody that might be interested in this mod- here's a link from GDC,
not difficult IMHO

I guess I got carried away during this race prep and overlooked something major.
Shorting (bypassing) the clutch sensor on a gsxr is a big no-no- the ecu always thinks that the bike is neutral (allows start up without having to pull in the clutch lever) but lowers the rev limiter leading to roughly 20 rwhp loss on top.

This is the correct way of removing the housing with the controls from the left clip-on
and bypassing the clutch sensor:

Glad I caught this on time before I took the bike in for a dyno tune!

Installed the relay and bypassed the clutch switch- hopefully without throwing the ECU in retarded neutral mode. The dyno pulls this week will tell the story.

The mighty Radioshack relay with the quick connects:

Louis,
I'll get the tune later this week- hoping for upward of 135 rwhp on a Dynojet dyno.
A friend has a large commercial scale and I'll get it measured- all I know at this point is
that the bike feels ridiculously light and turns quicker than anything else I've ever thrown
a leg over.

First day at NHIS for 2010- the 750 played with these two...
only to prove that better looking is not necessarily faster

The proud owner of this machine will pay for my next track day at NHIS- I guess the new BMW in street trim and with street tires is not quicker than my track 750 with race rubber

I will have to dyno it again as the bike developed an oil leak through a bad o-ring under the Woodcraft stator cover. The dyno operator told me that he was 85% done mapping but I didn't want to risk it as I thought that the whole gasket under the cover was leaky- I just saw oil where there shouldn't have been any while he was doing the pulls and called it the day.
Replaced the gasket and o-ring and had no leaks whatsoever yesterday at the track
and if it warms up a little bit today I will bring the bike in for the fine tunning- from what I have seen around I will be in the range of 135 rwhp and 58 lbs. tq.

Here's a few things on my current "to do" list:

getting dyno tune completed

adding two links of chain and adding two teeth on the rear sprocket- I had less use of 3rd gear as 2nd was too long on a couple of places at Loudon and I just banged against the rev limiter accidentally before hitting my brake points- really no room for a useful upshift at wot and then a downshift while under heavy braking and I also couldn't stretch out to the top of 4th gear on the home straight; stock gearing is 17/45 (525 pitch), current gearing is 15/43 and I will switch to 15/45

switching to a Brembo brake master cylinder- the oem Nissin is not great under repeated heavy braking

keeping my hopes high for a good deal on a used set of 16.5" wheels in forged magnesium

And as soon as tomorrow- another run at NHIS against my buddy's BMW 1000 as he's putting Pirelli race rubber and dialing his suspension at the stealership today.

F@ck me... 34F and snow flurries resulted in a canceled day at NHMS with BostonMoto...

Time to go back to the drawing board- the 750 has a few things I need to address
and a few more go-fast mods to undergo before the next track day at NJMP.

On a side note,a friend of mine emailed me this pic a few days ago
