05 GSXR1000 ENGINE MODS

I have 2 speedway cars that run these motors in stock condition. The wiring harnesses have been cut down from the original bike looms and fitted to the cars. We race these in 2nd gear only while on the track. Has anyone got any tips on modifications that can be done to stock engines that would help increase performance? I have been told to take out one of the butterflies in the fuel injection but I am not sure what this will achieve. Also can the stock ignition be remapped? Any help would be appreciated.

what do the rules allow?
the first things would be deck the head and do a valve job, & degree the cams. this would be good for a stock motor class, depending on funds ceramic tranny & water pump bearings

Very soon you should be able to up the stock rev limiter by simply reprogramming the ECU. I don't know if your local rules would allow that or not however. I've seen the most interest for upping the zx-12 redline has been sprint car guys. I guess when you've got it floored and riding the limiter all the time a little extra rpms can make a big difference.

I just got my hands on an 05/06 GSXR1000 ECU yesterday and downloaded the maps last night so it will probably be a couple weeks before all the rev limits are identified and tested. Also this is the first dual injector ECU I've looked at so I'm not sure what limiter modes will be available.

In the other Denso units I've looked at the software allows you to select a soft cut (partial fuel cut to outside cylinders only) or a hard cut (all injectors full off) The stock Busa uses the softcut while the ZX-12 uses the hard.
